Default SCCA bracket racing. next big thing in endurance racing?

thoughts on this Class of racing?

https://www.scca.com/pages/bracket-enduro

The SCCA is starting a new enduro program called Bracket Enduros. All cars that meet safety rules are eligible.

No SCCA logbook required.
No competition license for the drivers required.
No Rulebook other than safety

The Bracket enduro will get you a SCCA competition license.
Bring your LeChump car.
Bring your SCCA race car.

4 Bracket Enduros scheduled for this year:
July 23-24: Sebring
July 30-31: Hallet
Aug 13-14: Atlanta Motorsports Park
Oct 16th: Blackhawk Farms

Hong Norrth plans to have a bunch of cars (Maybe 5??) at the AMP event.

On the flipside, if you don't care about the race, you can get 6 hours of track time and a comp license for $395.

I get the value in that. Not to mention splitting up the 6 hours with your bros. That's cheap fun.

This sounds like a great way to get track time and test your car out! I will have to look into it with my friends.

To long to read the fine print but I'm assuming you'd need a full cage for this since it's door to door racing?

They are trying to capture some marketshare back from LeChump, and it might be a decent formula to do it. We'll see.

Looks awesome. Let's people like me who build a car to their own preferences instead of to some rulebook go out and have a good time as well as be competitive

We do something similar in Australia. It's called the Australian Endurance Championship, open to pretty much any race car within a certain performance band (not unlike those quoted by SCCA), and grouped by delta times.

It's extremely popular. It has its problems, but it attracts lots of cars and the grids are big.
