His mailbox is likely full. Are you having problems signing up?

I just looked on APEX website and it says that 29 sports are open.

You might also try emailing Gary to confirm.

OK I am registered!

I am looking forward to trying out the track in the Miata instead of on a bike. It will be my first Apex event. But I requested the intermediate or advanced group since I am already a licensed racer, I know that track very well (done hundreds of laps), and thus just need to figure out how to go around fast in a car.

We'll have to figure out a spot to meet up. How is pit space at one of these events? Pretty crowded? Are you allowed to use the covered area at the scoring tower? I am coming in my car so I would rather not hassle with the ez-up. Maybe I should just get a tow bar so I can bring all my crap (ez-up, tools, lawn chair, ice chest) on the trailer.

They are getting rooms for Thursday night:
Hotel for TDR@MSR - dfwmiata.com

I might be getting one, Hustler doesn't want hang out though

I think this event will be pretty packed, isn't he estimating ~40 plus instructors?

So is this your first trackday in the miata? Bring the party wagon, it'll probably be a long hot day.

OK yeah I usually stay at the Comfort Inn when I go up there so that is perfect. I just booked my room; the AAA rate is $63 BTW, king non-smoking.

If you ask him, he is too much of a God to hang out with us mere mortals. He can think that right up until I pass him on the track

That is a lot of instructors...

Yeah my first Miata track day. Looks like I need to get a trailer hitch fast. Either that or rent a car hitch and bring my truck. No way I want to sit in the sun all day without a cold drink. Dehydration and sunburn FTL.

Ninja Edit: "40, plus instructors"

I dunno how they will dole out the covered paddocks.

I am assuming that I will not be able to get in one so I'll take an EZ-up.

Anyone know if the organizers will set up an IR beacon for Mychron-style lap timers? I want to bring my timer off of my bike. If not, I have a beacon and a tripod but I do not know what the standard operating procedure is for the Apex guys.

I'll be there for sure, all signed up, got a room at the hotel, been prepping the car. I'll probably be getting there late on Thurs night so I might not be able to meet up for dinner if there are plans to do so. I'll post if that changes.

The weather forecast looks perfect. Sunny, high in the mid 80s, light breeze. Are we there yet?

Good times by all. Nice to meet you John.

Best weather I've seen at a trackday. In the 80's, overcast and little wind.

Hustler's car was rocking out there.

the car was rocking, the driver wasn't. Also, I think I have your widowmaker/scissor jack handle/winder thingy.
