^^ Sounds like the 'good old days' in Texas when the distance between cities was measured by the number of beers consumed while en route. Of course this was a somewhat subjective method of measurement.

Can I shock your monkey?
If we run the 2.9 we will get to compete against our previous best laps (sort of for me). If we run the 3.1 we get to go really, really fast and try something different. It's a win either way so it should be an epic weekend regardless. The weather on Saturday is going to be about perfect, a bit warm but nice otherwise.

what jeff said dan. although, i doubt anyones best time will be in the first session on a cold green track. besides, if we get 5-15min. sessions, and they get 4-20min. sessions, they actually get 5 more mins. of track time right? again, i don't have the schedule in front of me, and i can't look at it from home so bare with me here.
man, i think running the banking would be scary fun, but it would kill my lap times compared to other tta cars. i'm just about out of gear on the 2.9 config., so it would be shitty for me unless all the vette guys are chicken and don't hold wot. plus i don't know what would happen in turn 1. theoretically if a car was carrying 20mph more into t1, it would have to brake alot sooner than before. it would probably take a quick stab before turn in, and then the usual after the car settled from the transition. i'd probably run my wingless trunk and remove the canards if we ran the bigger track.

I just posted on NASA forum, same thread as ZxTex regarding track config/class size. Dave has been conspicously silent on the matter. I don't know if running the Nascar 3-4 will open it up (certainly not as much as Cression) but since they keep adding entries, I'm hoping for seperate TT groups (TTA and up should even the field), or at least open up the track.
Since I'm not compettive in TTA, I'm considering changing to DE3 for TxMC on Saturday, so as to not be in a clusterfuck +43 field trying for a good lap.
Even if they get late signups and promote from DE2, DE3 clearly has a better chance at a clean run (track is big enough to negate point by worries).
See ya'll Saturday. I'm in garage 43. (rent a garage, and it won't rain LOL)

I like how they want to split SUR/ABCDEF...the TTA record is within a second of TTS record. Not only that, we've been running all season with TTR and TTF on track together, at the same time.

Yep I was wondering if that could result in some engine carnage, maybe even some tire carnage. Tire issues are a big deal at Daytona. The bikes run a dual-compound tire developed specifically for the Daytona races.
Good thing I installed the Accusump.

No mention of any track change either. Looks like DE3 for me on Sat.
