^^^ Any expletives I type in here would be a futile attempt to describe that car. Motherfreaker... It sounds/looks/goes in a truly fantastic manner.

So what is the deal with his results? There is a 240 listed on Saturday with no times, and nothing at all on Sunday. Judging by the way he was reeling in every other car with ease his times must have been smoking fast, and he clearly ran several laps.

EDIT: OK watching the video his lap ending at 8:26 looks clean and it was about a 2:27 measuring from the YouTube clock.

It looks like you are doing a good job of using the whole track. I need to do more of that myself. LOL at your Rattlesnake line at 9:19.

The keychain cams are a bit finicky. It was the first time I tried using them so even with three of them, for three sessions, I only got that one video I posted. I think the key (no pun intended) is to offload the vids every session so the card is empty, and to leave them charging until the next session.

i just now watched that 240's video, and no wonder we didn't see it again. it's being driven by one of the top american iron driver's. i think he might have even won the ai championship last year. anyway's he must have borrowed that 240 or something, because he was running AI/CMC all weekend. and it was/is obviously a drift car with that giant hydraulic e-brake! whatever the case, it has big power and some serious grip.

Jeff, it was posted what the plan was here and on supermiata.com
If you had beat the street guys with a street class car, you may have gotten a trophy. Besides, I didn't know you wanted to run TxMC. You didn't last event for some reason.
i drove the car john won in, the tires where toasted, felt like driving in the rain and that's only reason i say such thinks.

i don't get on supermiata so didn't know and last even i had no times, didn't want and couldn't are 2 different things.

that sux, that's why i told you guys all last year that you HAD to see me in the morning to tell me your running and what class you're in. if you had done that, we would have atleast gotten some stopwatch times for you, or gotten someone to let you borrow their gps lap timer.

yeah, my tires feel like they've lost some time. they're a little over a year old, and i drove to 4-5 events/track days on them. you just gotta learn to drive around the problem like john does. i think the track had a lot to do with the lack of grip though.

Hey fellas,

I used run my Subaru at Hallett when I lived in OKC. Now that I'm in San Angelo, I'm thinking of runing my Miata at MSR.

Is it pretty easy to get into a straight up track day, or do you have to be a member?

Driver's Edge and Apex Driving Academy both have HPDEs at MSR. Go there to find their schedules and their requirements. Basically you can show up with a street car except that with convertibles you need (want) a roll bar.

I've done quite a few Apex days...I'd rather show up at NASA and have someone push you more. Apex is OK but I'm not going to learn much from them at this point, I think the NASA instructors are going to push you more...or you could grab one of us at a TXMC event. Apex is pretty good though, I'd throw down cash right now to have Keith berate me all day but he doesn't instruct much.
