Few pictures from my recent track day, thanks again for everyone's help, I'm amazed that my car ran so reliably. My best, when I could stay out of traffic, was a 1:37ish. Not sure about the SM record, but they average about 1:36. Not bad for my first day back in two years and all season tires. I'm on 205/50-15 Nitto NeoGens.

PIR. The white building is a two story building with a third story "tower" in the corner.

Brakes were amazing. Hawk HPS in the front with the wilwoods, porterfield R4 race in the back with 1.8. It was a little squirley, I opted to stay off the wall because of it. I had bias all the way back for the first two sessions, wish I had played with it more, it seemed to settle down and the pedal felt stiffer when I messed with it for the third session. Slept horribly and my brain wasn't in it for the forth and final session, so I had fun and left the brakes alone.

If I get tires that are have much more grip, I'll have to upgrade the pads.

I am really jealous. I wish I didn't have medical issues keeping me from doing a track day this year. I was going to do a bunch :(

Lots of time in a helmet, keeps your face from sagging.

I was running whichever pad is the more aggressive one. Is it the HP+? They really did great. I liked them for my first few track days, and figured with wilwoods and brake ducts they'd be okay again. I still say with r compounds I wouldn't be able to push my braking zones any further.

Big thanks to you btw Anton, the MS, even while solidly mounted to my transmission tunnel, worked flawlessly.

Last time I was at PIR the tower building wasn't white... hence the confusion. I'm looking forward to running at NW tracks again in the near future, been too long.

Ah, well the HP+ did fantastic. Sucks though, because that basically means my next tire change is +~$75 for more aggressive pads as well.

PM with some parts prices, I wouldn't be opposed, although I'm thinking your manifold skills should probably come before an MSII upgrade. Although that's much more expensive. Hmm...

No. You shouldn't of let me see you drive, or told me all your stories. That's a resounding NO.

It is, plenty of straights to have fun in a high power car, and the curves are decently fun in a good corner carver. Makes a well sorted turbo'd Miata a perfect candidate.

I haven't seen too many pictures of him, but I believe he does indeed have similar curly/wavy hair. Our driving skills would suggest I am the Ralph to his Micheal though.

Lots of changes to the track in the past 10 years. Chicane has been remapped twice. It's a lot easier, although more fun IMO since you're happy with your lines more often. I heard it was hard to be consistent with the old layout, frustrating a lot of drivers. And it was constantly taking out half the Indy field, not something they were happy about. 8 was also remapped, it's now a "meh" corner. Still fun, but not as sharp for those of us who already had nimble cars.

Despite all that, they also repaved completely, and it is more billiard smooth than ever, which I love.

When I said billiard table I was referring more to the lack of elevation change than the track surface. When I last raced there the only really bumpy spot was turn 6 where they'd cut across the track surface at some point and almost redid it smooth. Wasn't too noticeable in streetish cars... VERY noticeable in a F440 (very little suspension travel).

This is the F440 I raced there... the ragingly fast 1984 Red Devil T84. Good for (in my inexpert hands) about a 1:18 at PIR



Can't wait to get back up there and check it out...
