Loch-Ness Monster during hood repair
So I was trying to repair a couple of holes in the hood I recently picked up from levnubhin. He had hood pins in the corners of the hood to fix an unsightly gap where the hood meets the front fenders.
So I started sanding with my nice little DA sander, and took paint off of the hood where the pin holes are before throwing some bondo on it. When I was done sanding, the spot was black, it didn't strike me as odd at first, I was expecting fiberglass, but I just wasn't paying attention to the color. Then I dampened a cloth and wiped the "dust" off of where I had been sanding, and found a HUGE problem:
OK, so "problem" probably isn't the correct word for the situation...
Given, I took this photo after I took some finer sandpaper to it, and about 2 minutes of rubbing compound. I'm at a complete loss for what to do now. I wasn't expecting to see a CF hood, I was expecting to see a FG hood. I generally balk at kids running around in their civics and integras with black/CF/Fake CF hoods. I was going to put some black on the hood, my HT is black, and my windshield frame/a-pillars are going to be black. I'm not sure if I should just sand this thing down and leave it, or cover all the CF back up, or use the CF as the "black" portion of my hood. Any suggestions?

Nice find, but I would just paint it. Do you seriously want to spend your time sanding that down hoping it will look decent? Because it will most likely look like **** unless you REALLY take your time to do it, then wetsand/buff it after.
Either way, nice to know you have a "cf" hood.
