I'm suprised that it isn't quite a bit more than $50K for a pair. I'd have assumed more like $70K all in.

One of the guys at our local SCCA club has a real 66 Shelby GT350H. Still auto crosses it some on non-points events. He took it to Nationals again last year for the 40th anniversary. IIRC, he bought it in the early 80's for $3,100. Worth about $250K now. Not bad return on his money.

Yep, looks like a Pantera. I would like to have one, with all of the original problems fixed (wiring, overheating) and a modern V8 turbo.

I saw it at Nationals last year, definately a very cool car.

Yes, they are two of the 500 Shelby GT-Hs from Hertz, numbers 127 and 137. Both are Texas cars and have less than 35K on the odometers.

We got a package deal from a broker, hence the relatively low price. We are going to take care of some routine maintainence, warranty and cosmetic work, then ship them to Stuttgart.

In the garage from left to right:
- 1988 Mustang ASC/McLaren, number 1535 of 2200, w/ <80K miles
- 2005 Mustang GT w/ various Saleen and Shelby components plus a custom Watts link, tuned by Mike Murrillo - This is his DD.
- 1974 Pantera L with the original 351-C. (He's got a race prepped 351-C in the shed.) This car won the 100mph class at the Big Bend Open Road Race three years in a row.

Not shown is the 1993 Lightning that has been "adjusted"...

Mom used to ask me when I was going to grow up. I kept telling her, "21 years after Dad does. Tell me when to start the clock." - She quit asking...

What does who need what for? Dad with all his toys or the German with his?

But isn't this like asking many of us, "why do you need more boost?"
