Default 01 LS from Eugene, OR

Hello, I bought my '01 LS back in August and have been looking for the "right" forum since. The previous owner put on a Racing Beat front sway bar and some ugly American Racing wheels, but otherwise it was pretty much stock. Since buying it, I've removed the pinstripes and added a Hard Dog hardcore rollbar and a hardtop (still waiting for paint). I've got some FM V-Maxx coilovers on the way, and am looking at 15x8 6ULs for wheels. I'm still undecided on tires, as it's going to rain for the next 9 months, but I really only drive on the weekends anyway. I expect to do some maintenance items (timing belt, bushings) first, and then it's time to start saving for a turbo. I'm not a good enough driver to make use of a ton of power yet (only a few track days and autocrosses), so I'll probably ramp it up gradually.

I'm coming from the E36 M3 scene, having just sold my white '95 coupe back to my brother-in-law. I spent most of my time on M3Forum's E36 section, which had a similar function-over-form preference as MT.

Welcome.

ohhh white coupe, roll bar, kosies..... damn that thing looked clean.

I spent my fair time searching the various bimmer forums with my E46 M3 and IMO non of them have the same functional level of proven modification knowledge as this place.

These ugly things came with the car:

Half tempted to paint them and use them as winter wheels since I'm unlikely to sell them for much. Tires are in fair condition but not worth swapping them to another wheel, would rather just buy a new set of tires.

Please excuse the unpainted hardtop, I'm waiting for a friend at a body shop to have time to paint it.

Red face

I like the factory twists better than those.

I do too, but that's what came on the car from the previous owner.

Anyway, they've been replaced with K1s now, and the hardtop has been painted:
