Cool Hello MT.net

I've been reading here forever so it seems like a good time to finally post.

I'm Nick, I got my '99 three years ago. I came to a bit of a crossroads last year where I was just bored of the stock power on my car, it didn't help that a friend of mine had got a S2k. At first I was leaning towards just getting a S2k since I had wanted one before just didn't want to pay for the insurance on them and now my insurance has dropped a lot. However I still prefer the handling of the Miata over the S2. So I then decided I would go for boost instead. I joined the local Miata club and meet some FI guys (one older FM, and a MP62). I got a ride in the MP62 car (FormerDatsun510man's from m.net) and liked it but after driving the car with the FM kit my fate was sealed, I knew I wanted to go turbo then.

Also earlier this year in April I ruined my engine (got to see a rad explode closer than I'd have liked ), so having to invest more in the Miata means I am going to keep it until I drive it into the ground now. I got the new engine from TDR in August, went ahead and replaced the the motor mounts with MS ones and replaced the clutch with an ACT.

Plan I have now is to first get a ECU (Xede, MS, Hydra), a BEGI s kit, and piece my way to around 230-250rwhp.

I know TTIUWP so here are a few.

The last day my engine was alive. :(

There is a FM kit forsale in the parts section that is cheaper than some diy options.
Sounds like you are prepared for boost, clutch, new motor, O-yea!
Good Luck!

Todd: Thanks, I'll have to keep an eye on that auction, I was looking to get a 2560 but I'd go for the 2554 at that price.

Chad: You're not still building parallel MSs for 99s are you? I think I remember seeing someone saying they got one from you.

nicacus: They're Magnecors.

Welcome. That valve cover makes me want to wrinkle-finish mine. Nice.
