Default Formal Introduction

Hello Miataturbo.net,

My name is Kris and I have been quite the lurker for a while. I have posted a few times but have not made much of an attempt to make an intro thread or ask many questions of any kind.

About me:

Im 25, live in Corpus Christi (I know Jacob300z, and Spoolin2bars), and never seam to have enough time to work on my car/ race at all. I am a design draftsman and CNC programmer for a fab shop down here and I am currently back in school to finish up my degree.

I got into cars when I was 19 and purchased a 1987 Porsche 924s, which was the biggest mistake I have ever made, specifically to my wallet. I learned alot about mechanics and knew that I wanted to get into road racing / autocross but the time and money was just not there.

In February of 2009 I purchased my 1994 miata M, and was just to happy with the car. Within 2 weeks of owning the car I had replaced the timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires, exhaust, and was at the autocross having the time of my life.

This is the car a few days after purchasing:

Today the car sits with:

Stance GR+ coilovers upgraded to 10k fronts with 7k rears
Carbotech pads: 10s in the front 8s in the rear
Russell stainless brake lines
Racing beat tubular front sway bar, no rear bar anymore
949 racing end links
Boss Frog Roll bar and Harness bar
Ultra-shield race seat in manly purple
G-force 6 point harness
Personal steering wheel
15 x 8 6uls with 205 50 15 RA1s, (have had nto1s and will get another set next)
e-bay 2.5 inch exhaust that has been destroyed and re-welded
e-bay long tube stainless headers
Custom intake I made with e-bay parts and parts from my shop
e-bay 6 puck stage 3 clutch
e-bay 11lb flywheel
Not to much in the way of aesthetics, car is half black now due to replacing body parts, also APR carbon fiber mirrors form 949racing.com

Lots of other little things on the car that don't hop to mind at the moment.

It also still has A/C and Power steering....

I have a carbontrix hood extractor to be put on just lacking the time to get it done.

I dont have many pictures of what it looks like now but here are a few from some events I have been to..

I will get more recent pictures its changed a little bit since any of these were taken, and it has a huge riced out Darth Vader sticker on the back.

I try to make every event I can, HPDEs, PCAs, Autocrosses, but even so I was only able to attend the first Texas Miata Challenge at MSR-H, and have not made another one.

I will have some questions about turbo setups and EMS vs. Piggybacks but I will be doing as much research as possible to ensure my inquires are intelligent and not just internet slop.

Thanks for any help I have received and any that will be given in the future.

Its just a "cold air" style intake, not the manifold, sorry for not being more clear, but its basically some 2 1/2" OD aluminum pipe with a bend in it and some bungs welded to it with e-bay couplers and filter. Im working on a heat shield for it as well.
