Default new owner on mississippi coast

wanted to stop in and say hello, i have been lurking for the last month . i just purchased a 1990 that needs a little work. previous owner really did a lot of work on the car , turbo, rollbar, instrument bezel , power windows to name a few. he ended up buying a new car and the miata sat for about a year and a half.
i am looking for any local clubs or individuals that like playing with these cars to take a look at it and see if it needs anything , i am just not familiar with the aftermarket turbos and i dont want to ruin this car. any info would be appreciated . thanks, joe

I'm from Pascagoula. But I'm at MSU right now for college. Anyways, welcome to the forum. Try to work on your grammar some though. IE-capitalizing things, etc. And pics of your ride.

Odd spelling and punctuation always catches my eye, and makes the read distracting. Someone needs to come up with a 'texting analysis' program, similar to handwriting analysis. Shemp for instance doesn't capitalize (other than his name), which is fairly common, but he surrounds his commas with spaces, and doubles up on the exclamation points and question marks.

[spock]Fascinating[/spock]

Welcome aboard Joe.

Don't take it personal. Have a look at some of the intro threads below yours in the meet-and-greet section. This is THE FORUM for turbocharged miatas. But to be the best, we have to carry higher standards than most. You found the meet and greet section right off the bat. You're already ahead of half the newbs here. And you didn't ask any questions that have been answered a thousand times in the forums stickies either. Another plus. Overall, that's a pretty good first post. Only thing I would critique is your grammar. No, I'm not your English teacher, and no this isn't school. But seriously, if English is your first language, then it shouldn't be too hard to type a bit better.

Again, welcome to the forum. Where from MS are you from?

When you use at least some punctuation/capitalization, it makes you seem credible... like you might actually understand a technical answer. When you don't use any, it makes you look like an uneducated douchebag who is so ******* stupid he won't understand any answer we could give anyways. Not capitalizing the first word of a sentence or proper nouns, and not using a periods to end a sentence makes **** incredibly hard to read. It's to your advantage to use the shift key every once in awhile so that the really smart people around here don't blow you off as a 17yr old text-writing ricer douche. This forum is written/organized in a very clear and easy-to-access format, with good understandable information presented by people who know what they're doing. This forum is about QUALITY of information, and although our standards for membership are not very high, we do have enough respect for this place to take our time to type things clearly and correctly... for the most part.

More TIPS:
Fill in your PROFILE INFORMATION with your location... or nobody will know where you live unless they read this thread.

Put a short list of modifications in your signature to help us remember what you drive.

If you don't know what parts you actually have, then take a lot of pictures and post/link them so we can tell you what they are.

Typing in all caps is a quick way to get your post deleted... and typically, yes, it does indicate you're shouting.

For a complete list of all the Miata clubs in the world, go to The MX-5 Miata Pit Stop: MX-5 Miata.net and look on the left side of the main page for the clubs link. While you're there, check out the GARAGE are for a lot of helpful maintenance and "how to's" you'll want to know about.

Other than that, be sure to read through all the sticky's in every forum, check out the Useful-Saved-Posts forum, SEARCH before you ask a question, use GOOGLE before you ask a question... and enjoy.

There are just soo many places I can take this that I'm having serious trouble settling on one.
Thanks for the welcome!!!
No worries. Thanks for helping to show the rest of the country that the south is full of uneducated rednecks.

Enjoy your Pinto. Try not to get rear ended.

Sadly, there's a good bit of truth to that. Sucks. Though there are some that are pretty sharp, but they tend to move away to get away from all the morons... Basically what I'm doing. People like this newb are pretty common. Close minded, illiterate, think they know everything, and believe anyone that's not on their level is a moron.

****.

lets see here, because i did not capitilize a couple words on a car forum i am told to "try and correct my grammar", this lead to readers being distracted and the uneducated redneck comment, almost forgot the douchebag one, that was good.
patsmx5, please give me a call when your in town and we can discuss me being "Close minded, illiterate, think they know everything, and believe anyone that's not on their level is a moron" i am real curious where this all came from?
to any one else that reads this , i came to this forum in peace, to learn about a car i recently purchased, thats all.
i would also like to apologize to the forum ****'s for not capitilizing ,using a double space before a comma and using too many question marks and exclamation points (sometimes i get excited), i really did not intend to disrescpect the integrity of YOUR forum. please, no need to respond unless you are wanting to discuss my new toy. joe

Seriously, it's called HAVING SOME RESPECT! You come on this forum and type like a 12 year old. Did you read Samnavy's response? He pretty much outlined what this forum is about. My first post was as nice as I could be. Right then you could have just said, "Thanks for the advice, I'll get some pics later I'm getting the car painted...." But you didn't. YOU fucked up. The fact that you continue to type so shitty, intentionally, is sad.

Joe, we understand that... all of us at one time came here to learn about the car. But if you'll go get a beer and come back and read my first post, you'll see that the reason we are a little bit vocal about these things is the QUALITY of information here. If everybody wrote/spelled/typed like a 3rd grader, there'd be nothing here worth reading.

Come on man, you aren't really going to sit there and pout because we asked you to capitalize your sentences... are you? Put your ego aside for a second and come to the conclusion that this forum is the place you want to be for learning about your Miata. The guys here are a bit critical about "the little things" which is good, and if you can't take a little heat, well... better luck at cr.net.

Oh yah, and read the "TIPS" I put in my first post and actually do them. They're important, I promise!

+1

Every time I read a post from some inconsiderate jackass who apparently can't use a keyboard, I picture them having a car with 18" local-tire-store-special wheels, yellow wiper arms, a gutted cat, gloss spray-painted interior trim, and "Olde English" letters spelling out something having to do with a car club on the back window.
