Thumbs up To noob or not to noob...that is the question?

What up MX freaks!Name is lordrigamus but you can call me Riggy if you like.I'm a 37 year old child from the south suburbs of Chicago.I've been wandering around the site incognito for quite awhile and figured it was time to register and make myself known.I even responded to a thread today all by myself!!!This place is a wellspring of knowledge for the Miata crowd and I am so glad I found it.
I've got a '92 Crystal White(Riggy's little cream puff)that I acquired from my friend's brother dirt cheap about 4 years ago.It needed a rear window and a timing belt and that was it...I thought. Then something happened. Some sick sort of logic worked its way into my head and I then thought:It also needs a Greddy turbo kit!Long story short,15psi,stock internals, and my gear head cousin don't mix!I let him drive it and 5 minutes later it came back with a blown motor.Only problem is a piston with 1/4 of itself missing doesn't keep the boost in the cylinder real well!It has a tendency to pressurize the crankcase and blow 3 quarts of oil out the dipstick tube which makes for a great fire under the hood!Well,me being who I am,can't just rebuild it and get on with my life.So countless hours, dollars,a few trips to Ebay and the random race shops,I suppose life does go on.
In my travels I have met the likes of Wiseco,Flyin'Miata,Begi,Cometic,Garrett,Fidanza and Clutchmasters to name a few,and am a better man for it...I think.12psi working on 20psi and still crusing.Which brings us to where we are now and a quick question. Are all DIY turbos a big PITA or is it just mine?I swear my great, great, great, great grandfather must have spit in a Gypsy's eye or something.Just kidding,it is hard work and kind of expensive from time to time but sure is fun when it comes together. The crisp handling of a Miata with power on tap from a turbo...ahhhh...makes me giggle. But enough about me,sorry if I got long winded. It's a pleasure to meet you all!Glad to be here.I love the site,it's helped me on many occasions solve problems that I thought I would be stuck on forever.Keep up the great work.Later on all

Make that into several paragraphs. That's hard as hell to read. Use a space between sentences. Post pics of said car. Do all of this or you will be baned.

I let him drive it ,I guess that was enough. He took one of his friends for a ride, probably bounced it off the factory rev limiter while showing off.I was running 15psi,non-intercooled that probably didn't help either.I just ran BP 93 octane, sometimes Cam2 100,with a massive amount of ignition retard and it held up ok.I'm sure I was a little more conservative than he was in my driving style.Plus I was heavy on my fuel mixture.

^^^For ***** sake, would you PLEASE put a space after your periods to indicate the beginning of a new sentence.

Great post for content... but punctuation sucks and I won't be reading any more of your posts no matter how short unless you suck less.

To post pics, either subscribe to the forum so you can upload photos to the server, or get a Photobucket account and link them.

If you're going to upload photos to the server, then dowload the Microsoft Image Resizer on the righthand side of this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx Resizing to "small" is good for most things, but use "medium" for if you need to emphasize details.

Once installed, here's how to use it:
