Default Greetings from France

Hi everybody,

Quick presentation, I'm Lagontinas, Adrian in real life, 23, engineer and living in normandy, western France.

I'm a big fan of japanese cars and proud owner of a UK-spec 96 1.8 "iS" NA MX5 since a year, imported by myself.

The car has around 95k miles on the clock, not much rust for an English car and came with few accessories :

- Stainless steel exhaust with twin exit, nice but a bit loud
- Pipercross air filter kit with heatshield, I'm looking for replacing it by a stock airbox, or building one.

My plan is to change some stuff (mostly for doing trackdays), here's a list :

- Nardi steering wheel => Done
- Braided brake lines => Done
- Megasquirt (MS2 V3.0) to run on corn juice (e85) => In progress
- Tein coilovers
- 15" wheels
- Rollbar (TR lane or hard dog)
- maybe turbo someday

So, here I am, to gather information about forced induction/megasquirt on miatas but also trying to help people and participate to what looks like a pretty nice community !
I'm also having trouble running the car with the MS, seems to be the right place to find information and ask for help !

See you later on the forum !

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have done your research and are on the correct path to have a fun track/street car.

I have been to Normandy and recall many narrow, curvy back roads that would be great fun in a prepared Miata. We went from Paris to Sainte-Mere-Eglise and visited Utah and Omaha Beach landing sites and several cemeteries and monuments as we drove East to Calais. But if you are in Rouen, that's a big city.

I also recall the fuel prices to be very high. What is the cost per liter there now?

If you need anything I can help with, let me know.

Thanks for the kind words !
Yeah Normandy roads are super fun to drive on, even with a stock miata. Western part of Normandy is great for its history, with all WW2 sites, I know these places very well despite living in the east side ! Hope you enjoyed your time there.

Right now gas prices just skyrocketed because of new taxes and oil prices rise. For premium gas (98 octane), it's around 1.4€ per liter ($5,6 a gallon). That's the main reason I'm switching to e85, price is almost the same all the time (different tax calculation) and it sits around 0,6€/liter. The mx5 is my daily, I would be glad to save money on gas...To buy more parts !

Thanks for the help, I'll let you know.

Oh also, happy new year everyone !
