Smile Hello

Hey guys! I just got myself into an 04 MSM and found this forum mentioned on miata.net.
I hope I can share the knowledge I attain in the coming months.

So, heres a fun lil story. I bought the car in TX on Saturday. Drove it to New Orleans, stayed there Sat night, and continued my drive back to Atlanta, GA on Sunday. About the middle of Alabama, just as it got completely dark, someones bumper flew off of their car...and into the brand new MSM I just got, which is going 80mph.
The front bumper is screwed. There is undercarriage has damage (we rode over the bumper after hitting it). The rear bumper is screwed, it got hit from underneath, and the tail lights actually popped out from the impact on the bumper, fog lights screwed, intercooler busted, door dented and scraped, quarter panel dented.

Total of just over 5k in repairs.

Im looking at this as getting the ugly stuff out of the way, she's been hurt a lil, now I wont worry as much and be a lil more comfortable....

Damn.

Welcome to the forum.

On the bright side, looks like an opportunity to replace that intercooler with one much more functional

I'm still upgrading the intercooler though...in about a month after I recover from paying the deductable and for a new inteake

Welcome, glad you decided to post an intro. This forum can be harsh, but it's part of the charm.

Welcome! Sorry to hear about the incident, that sucks, but at least it's repairable. Since you're in the Atlanta area, check out MX5 Miata Atlanta Owners Club. We have a pretty active local Miata group in this area.

Sorry to hear the story man. That must have sucked big time. I would have been raging pissed and probably punched the guy who's car it came off of in the throat! I'm assuming the car it came off of did stop right? lol

Now you'll be starting off with some new paint on the front end which is always nice. And like you said, the cars been "broken in" now.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys,

And no, the other guy didnt stop...i didnt even get a car model type, it had just gotten totally dark. Insurance said it was a "no fault accident", so I'm only out my deductible (still...$500, grumble grumble)
