Cool Hello from Germany!

Hey folks,
My name is Tim (which you already know because i had to log in via facebook because of some register error or me being to dumb atm ), I am 22 and I live in Germany.
We hear much about your forum around here so I decided to have a look....which was 2 years ago, when I bought my 1990 Miata from Canada.

Since then I did the usual stuff: Fighting the rust and exchanging other rotten parts like softtop etc etc. This was then followed by several upgrades....again, as usual I guess
Now it's time to Turbo the little one. I don't plan to go too wild. By now I have got a second engine block, which is about to receive forged internals and there's already this fresh T25G pretending to be some kind of shelf decoration in the living room atm
Thanks to this forum, the overall plan is set and I simply need to collect the remaining parts, but I guess I will definately need help here and there, which is why i registered.
And do not fear my noob status, I know how to use the search-button

How do you get your car to comply with TüV?!

Influx of Germans joining up! I want to go back so bad lol

TüV is no problem if you do it properly and know the right people

Every part is registered and the car has been to the TüV just in May. A more or less local Mazda Tuner helped me out with some comparison reports for things like rims and flares, which you do not get here usually. The problem is not that those parts would be classified as unsafe, but Germans love paperwork. US or Japanese parts do not have proper reports (from a German perspective), which is why we are not allowed to use them...so I did some research on how to get them right

It really is much more work, annoying af and definately much too expensive, but still possible. Same for turbo-ing ^^

Well... Either you buy things with a proper report to get them registered the usual way or you Start to look for Parts you may like that are similar to Parts which have those Reports. Take my rims for example... They are dragwheels in 15x8.25 with 0 Offset but without any Report. BUT their measurements are similar to some Rota wheels that have German papers by now so I can Use the Rota report to prove that it fits. This is only possible if those measurements are stamped into the rim btw...
Last possibility would be to let someone make a proper report, but that is just as expensive as the whole car....
Otherwise no TÜV :(

Maybe I should just buy a car there, import the parts as Schrott then swap it over.

Not sure wether i got that right... Buy car in Germany, Import it, then build and Export back to Germany and say its Import so that everythings legit?

I think in a way it did If you had a car that you never could buy here in Germany, then it would work. BUT because there is the european version and european Parts, they would make you swap back ^^ Happened to me with sidemarkers. Had to deinstall them to Use our simple reflectors
