Default Wee bit a scotch brg

Hi everyone, my names Gary........... I've just aquired my first roadster so thought I'd join some like minded folk

I'd been on the hunt for a miata for a while , but last week I'd heard my uncle (who does a little bit of importing) had an r32 skyline in his drive......... I popped down for a look and was surprised to find he had a 91 , 70k miles on the clock, BRG eunos roadster v special in the garage.

The car had sat covered for 7 years, but started first time once jumped

I asked how much he'd need for me to take it off his hands and as surprised as anyone, he said I could take it as long as I was putting it back on the road!

So next week I'll go back down and pick it up...........body shell is mint, all original, with roadster mats, polished 7 spokes and it even has a hard top.

Once I pick it up, I will start a build thread as I have some big plans for my wee roadster

I have a 91 BRG, and it's single stage paint. With luck and some elbow grease, you should be able to bring that puppy back to life.

Find a good thread detailing locations & techniques for all the drain holes, and clean them out. 7 years outside could mean a lot of crust.

Thanks guys, may get abused for this with it being a special edition......but.......

Gonna put it on a diet, stripping what I don't need (will be a weekend car for enjoying on the twistys of the Scottish A roads and taking in the odd car show )

It's been sat for a while so all bracing, suspension, bushings, steering and brakes will be replaced/uprated

Would like it to look like a new car underneath

Once all the mechanicals are finished I'll move on to the looks, still undecided between full on aluminium seats, half dash, roll caged, carbon panelled street car or BRG unassuming sleeper

During this I'll be sticking the pennies away for FI and a real transmission

Sadly I'm an electrical engineer not a mechanic/car builder.......... but thankfully, I've got all the time I need to learn and do things right!

Congrats on the BRG Gary. It looks really clean. Like wackbards mentioned, the single stage paint in the 90's is pretty simple to buff up to a shine.

Plan on doing a manual transmission swap in it? You should also put a 7" torsen differential on your list of mods, especially if you are going to be going FI.
