Default hello! just researching my next project

hi everyone! my name is adam from north jersey. i dont have a miata yet but i'm here to search around and learn some more about these cars. i currently own an 05 subaru sti with a bunch of mods 437whp/429tq. please dont flame me for owning a subaru!!! anyway, i figured it's time to start researching my next build and this looked like a very useful forum. i have always wanted a turbo miata and now im ready to make it happen. my plans are to search, lurk, read, search some more, and then do it over and over again so you probably wont hear much from me, especially noob ?s. (and yes, i know where the sticky's are!) i already have a very good understanding of turbo/custom fab and call me crazy, but i actually enjoy the countless hours of research involved before i start a build. as of right now, i'm looking to build a high hp miata that can not only be a dd, but great at autox events. it also helps that mazda stuff is WAY cheaper than subaru parts so i feel roughly $15k can get me pretty far. i may be wrong but i'll be looking into that as well. anyway, sorry for the long post but im very excited. im off to the search button! later!

Welcome. You can build a badass miata for 15k.

sounds like you got your STi just fast enough to handle a 250rwhp miata

Hello, I'm from central NJ so it's like we're brothers. Oh yeah. So a few things:

*Many miata owners have subarus as OTM's. (other-than-miata's). I currently have an '05 obxt. So no one will flame you for owning a subaru.

*a 250rwhp miata will not come close to a 430whp sti. A 290rwhp miata is about as quick as a bolt-ons/stage 1 sti.

*quality miata parts are not cheaper than quality subaru parts. I've found quite the opposite to be true.
