Hello, this is my barn find...
Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum. Figured I would introduce myself and my new barn find. Picked this car up from a lol guy here in Ely, Nevada. I was driving around looking for property to buy/build a home on and spotted this out of the corner of my eye. Went to the guys door and offered him some cash for it that he declined. He had big plans for the car to race it in a local race called the "silver state classic challenge"; a race consisting of many different speed classes, the coarse is 90 miles or so and there is no speed limit... Well after 2 months of not hearing from him he called me and said he would take my offer on the car as he was moving to Reno and could not take it with him. This is my first Miata but not my first race/performance car. I am excited to get this car in my garage and tearing into it. Plans are going to be get it running first to make sure engine in good and operating correctly, then going to yank it, clean the bay up and remove any unnecessary items, reseal the engine while its out and start doing full suspension mods, coilovers, bushings, knuckle mods, sway bars etc... I will start a build thread once I get started!
Stay tuned for more photos that aren't horrible cellphone quality!

Great start on a spec Miata. Really good looking cage. Are you planning to build for a certain class, or just creating an HPDE track-day terror? Miatas are, hands-down, the best track cars going. Great suspension, easy on components due to light weight, tough as nails. You're going to love it.
I just picked up a second, dedicated track Miata myself ("Red") so I can keep the Silver more streetable. I'll be driving Red as-is for awhile, but I hear the LS sirens calling. LOL.

Ha ha ha thanks guys! I really appreciate all the positive feedback! I will actually take some legit photos with my Nikon tomorrow while I am at work(where my car is at for now). the engine is there but going to need some tender loving care. It has a eBay aluminum radiator as well as an eBay cold air intake. I am going to be pulling the motor once I get all my tools out where I live now as well as get a place with a garage. I relocated to Ely, NV for a job and am still settling in.
I did find this little gem along with an Optima Redtop battery in the trunk today.

Awesome. Whelp.. welcome to the strange and addicting world of miatas. What suspension does that bad boy have? You might have gotten another score on that front...
Edit: Digging some of the cars on your FB page. White s14 is clean, was that yours? My brother has a red s14 w/ a blacktop swap and a s15 turbo. Made 280whp.
Also a huge fan of 2.5rs's, and really any subaru. :P
