Supernewb from Michigan
Hello, my name is Bo. I'm up in Michigan and bought my first Miata(my first car at that), on June 14, 2015 at 3:23:14 pm when there was a slight overcast and the air had just the slightest must to it... a pretty exciting moment for me if you couldn't tell. It's a 1992 1.6l that had 65,000 on the clock when I bought it. I plan to force some more oxygen into it eventually, and actually have a good start on parts, but being in high school, there's no telling what my rate of progress will be like due to funds. Luckily I have an SUV to drive this winter, but aside from that, it's my daily driver for every other season.
Myself, well, I'm 16 (hence supernewb), and consider myself to be pretty mechanically inclined, and I love to fabricate. Even the word gets me excited. Fabricate, woo. I can always find time to stare at my Miata. Enough of me.
The car itself is just about perfect mechanically, and great aesthetically. The only issue I've had so far was an idle droop, but that stopped after I taped up the flex joint on the crossover tube. Outside of that, no issues. I did a fair amount of preventative maintenance when I got it, including putting motorcraft into the tranny, new oil/filter, new brake pads, new diff fluid, new valve cover gasket, new accessory belts, new shifter boots, and a good ol' steam clean of the interior (I know, as opposed to used new oil, etc.). I've also painted the valve cover, deleted the visors, put new rubber on, changed the radiator, eBay R lip, and put new speakers in. Oh! I've also installed NB Flyin' Miata sways along with Koni Sports on the rear and Koni Races on the front, with Ground Control Springs all the way around.
Here she is:
There's the "Wow, this sucks to install" eBay lip.
There she be.
