Hey, complete NOOB from Redlands, and my '94 has somewhat of a plan...
Hey guys and gals!
First off, my first car was a Toyota Camry, 2004, and one of the most boring things to drive. It was comfortable and got from A to B easily and reliably...but wasn't for me.
After I sold it for the right price, I began looking at my options, 240sx came to mind, but ,most were some kid's drift, summer project; I was looking for something stock, reliable and something I could keep for a long time, through the rest of my senior year in high school and through college and maybe more.
I eventually found it, my 1994, red Mazda Miata; came with the things, from my research, that I knew I wanted. It had low miles, 85xxx, it was completely stock, besides for power interior accessories (turned into a nightmare which I recently sorted out), and came with a Torsen LSD, the most quintessential piece of the puzzle, I was planning for boost in the long term.
First mod I did was a shitty, diy intake... Next was installing FM front and rear sway bars, lots of learning...like remembering to fully put on bolts when taking for a test drive...but all in all, an awesome well worth it mod.
My plans, which could/will span over years and my budget my change by then, but in somewhat of this order for modifications on my miata are as follows:
Coilovers--Tien basics, most likely, not looking just to get low...
Wheels-- Something wider and more aggressive but affordable
Power-- Turbo is my poison, and looking to do a semi-diy job, but still
fuzzy on exactly what I want to do as I have no experience, but love to
get my hands dirty. HP ratings of 180~ is my goal.
Among these mods, things will come along. Like an impulse buy on a Momo steering wheel, hub and Spec-D quick release this weekend. All in all, I am a Miata enthusiast already and hope to join the group and learn as much as I can and enjoy my little red Marley more than I already do.
If anyone has anything to suggest, be my guest! Open to all discussion.
Edit: some pictures.
