Default Hey everybody..

My name is Sam and I'm pretty new to the Miata community. I'm originally from Northern California but I'm currently in Orem, UT for school.

I just bought a '99 with leather, torsen rear and the factory aero. It's pretty fun and more or less like a go kart. I get a big grin every time I drive it.

I'm 23, married and pretty excited. I had a thoroughly built FC but sold it pay for my wedding/honeymoon etc and just recently saved up enough to get another sports car. I've auto crossed quite a bit and been to a few track days so I'm looking to do the same with this car. My only problem is I'm pretty tall (6'4") with a long torso so I sit a bit too high. I'm looking at lowering my seat/getting a race seat and a roll bar to start. After that, I'll focus on the boost.

I've been lurking for a while though and I've really enjoyed the info. Thanks to everyone for your collaboration and hard work on the FAQ, this is a really informative site!

Your first mistake ...I'm about to get engaged and I'll be damn'd if I sell my toy to fund a wedding/honeymoon.....Don't get me wrong, I want it to be nice, but I'd rather wait a little longer to get hitched to save the funds rather than sell my car. Anywho, welcome!

Haha well the FC didn't really have much left to do to it. All the suspension was done and it was making a reliable (let the rotary jokes begin) 350 rwhp. I was really happy with it, but I also wanted to start another project so I was okay with letting it go. Plus, my wife is really supportive of my habit and encouraged me to pick up this Miata (I didn't really want to spend the dough right now) so I think I made the right choice

Forum rules include: The mention of girlfriend or wife's appearance requires posting of pictures of said female or poster will be subject to banishment from the forum.

Why do noobs never read the FAQs or the forum rules?

Sam, I am in Utah County. (I work in provo but go to school in slc). There are a few boosted miatas running around the wasatch front.

I am trying to organize an autocross event in the parking lot of my employer's building, the owners are on board, I just need to get them to sign off on buying 400 cones lol. I'll let you know if it comes to fruition.

That'd be way fun, let me know if it happens.

I did read the FAQ, I guess I just didn't read that FAQ. I retract my previous statement then.
