Default Hey guys

So a little about me.

Hey I'm Jeff, nice to meet you all. I live in Lower Michigan kinda sorta nearish Battlcreek if any of you are from around here, its about an hour drive from Detroit. I'd say im a technology and modern car enthusiast. I never really liked older style vehicles, infact anything beyond the 90's is straight out ugly to me and non appealing. So with that I'd say I live for the future and whats to come out of it. What can I say, I love technology and I feel the Iphone was god sending me a gift.. lol...

This car will be the first car I ever did anything turbo wise with, so im pretty new to the turbo scene. I have researched quite a bit on the subject but with reading does not = Hands on experiance or experiance in general. So if you all will have me, im sure at some point ill have a million questions over the course of my car project.

Now to my car.

I have a 1994 mazda miata with the 1.8bp. I bought the car used with 81k miles, a broken windshield wiper motor and a rust spot near the passanger side rear quarter panel water drain hole. So I fixed all those problems and ever since then I been planning/scheming what I am going to do with the car(keep in mind this is last year during spring/summer. When I bought the car I had a plan in mind already, this was going to be my project car and I have allways wanted to do a tuner car.

The car useto be a Laguna blue color (which I absolutly hated) and had plans to change over the course of my work to the car. Heres a few shots of my car as it was last summer/winter after adding my widebody autokonexion kit.

Dont mind the hubcaps lol, those along with the hood and headlights will also change when I can afford to do so. So anyways after leaving it like that over winter there is some minor work I need to do. I plan the change the rear quartpanel molding to be more edgy like a stealth fighter instead of smoothing it out to blend into the car. This leads me to now and current plans.

My current plans for the looks of the car this spring/summer are:
1. Redo some of the molding and touch up around the wheelwells and paint the car midnight blue
2. Get a new hood
3. New lowprofile headlights or flush
4. Get the vented turn signal mounts
5. Rims/tires
6. I'm also considering a spoiler just because I know how light the car feels going 140 and I feel some downforce at the rear would help quite a bit.

So lots of work ahead of me in that department.. lol.

Now lets get to what am doing right this moment
So anyways, driving my car its pretty apparent the throwout bearing is going bad so I bought the Flying Mita happy meal kit (Stage 1 clutch + 10.3pound flywheel) I'm going to be droping the tranny this weekend and installing those parts. I also was going to install the turbo I own, I pretty much have everything you need to do the install besides the any sort fo fuel management =( yes I know, bad move in my part - But I can wait to install that after I get some more cash flowing in. (link to where I and some members had a discussion on this, https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo-discussion-14/good-ebay-fmu-buy-46503/)

Turbine Specs :

I plan to later at some point, to just buy and build my own engine to put in or go ahead and buy the fm stroker crate engine.

Sooooooo whew, with all that and so many more things racing through my mind, again its nice to meet all you guys!

Actually no im not, in that photo with the rear quartpanel I undid the rivits I made to take the bumper back off again due to a friend of mine getting a light stuck and snuged under the actual bumper.

Aside from that when I goto throw paint on the car, neither of those marked locations u put up would matter as both the fenders/ front bump/rear bump and roof are coming off. No reason to crate more work for myself when its coming back off reguardless.

is referring to the 4x4 stance your car has with autozone chromz hub capz.

+1 to the fact you are not going 140 in the miata. Sorry, you just aren't.

Ohh, and rims are for ****. Wheels are for men.

Sorry but yea I have done about 138 in that car.
Rims are for style.

Apparently none of you bothered to read anything I posted.

The entire car is a Step by Step process for me. Most of what has been said is the most retarded **** I have ever read.
Think of it this way, if I bought rims, had them and had my car painted but posted them in the wrong order from whateveryone is saying the conclusion would be the same though the fact of the matter the car is complete. The fact is at one point or another I have steps I choose to do my project in, and reguardless of what it is now, its not going to be like that at the end.

its pretty much physically impossible with the gearing in your car, unless you have low *** gear in your diff and a 6 speed! and it would take forever to get there with a bone stock engine....

138 ≠ 140... but you also didn't do 138mph.

I read your ****. Until the body kit part... then I lul'd at photos...

Anyways we are more interested in the mechanical side of things around here.

1. Buy MS now and install before the turbo.
2. Then depending on your goals, upgrade injectors.
3. Install Turbo.
4. ?????
5. Profit.

lol

I was going to write a different reply, but then I caught your ninja edit, read it, and now I have a ******* headache.

I have a feeling you wont last very long here.

Ohh, and once more, you did not go 140mph in a stock miata. Sorry.

I heard that the Autokonectionzzz body kit allows air to vortex in the back in such a special manner that generates a thrust thus allowing the vehicle to achieve speeds otherwise impossible. True story

So you are saying that it doesn't matter what order you install parts? That is completely 100% false and makes you sound like a noob.

There is a smart way to do this. Engine management should be first on your mind. And with a 94' MS is your best friend. Start there engine wise. Don't really care what you do looks wise, cr.net and m.net will help you there.

Doing the engine was and still is the last part I planned on doing.

Lastly, im certified in in body/colision repair from my highscool years, and a friend of mine manages our GM's body shop. With the work on the exterior of my car, there is a right and a wrong way of doing things. Because I choose to Mold the rear quarter panels It makes absolute no sense to bundle the undercarriage part of the quarter panel to the car. As I knew that I was going to wait untill summer of this year to see how those quarters held up to the stress of winter + wear and tear of ocasional driving and then later fix/paint what is needed.

Anyways, you may disagree with the widebody and thats fine. Everyone is entitled to an opionion. I like the look of it, and so I did it, not because some asshats try to dictate. Truth of the matter is, with primer alone and shity wheels at gas stations/driving I get lots of looks and compliments and quite a few offers to buy the car.

Now the engine, is and and still is last on my list. I was going to do a turbo and maybe do bout 5 psi for now with a rrfpr or a neo. You guys are completly againts that, yet BELL Engineering sell kits that do exactly that same setup, YET according to you its incredibly wrong to do. Ill agree, Im a dumb *** on part that I was going to do the fmu that way at first and I had plans to switch to a megasquirt at a later time when I could afford it or I wanted to do more boost. Having the turbo just laying around is tempting.

Wow dude, you are a dumbass. If you cant tell the difference between having band-aids and having REAL engine management, youre better of molding you Body kitzzzz stay out of you engine bay.

You have to understand that shops/companies will sell ****, literally, if there's a market for it, and using a FPR I would say is the ok way to do it. In the other hand having a programmable ECU allows to control all parameter in your engine thus ensuring that your investment wont explode.

If you plan to stay at 6 psi, which I doubt, then sure go ahead get all the band-aids- curious note with what you would spend sorting all band aids you could afford an MS to begin with. My recommendation to you would be do it right the first time.

In respect to you body kit, plain and simple most of us think is a waste of money, and we do consider it rice. Now like you said everyone has their opinion, if you like it good for you, in our case we dont

On a serious note, in this site you have to give and take, and more important dont act like you know everything there is to know cause you don't. Look around the site learn as much as you can and implement what you learn.

Do the BEGi RRFPR if you need to scratch that itch, but don't do it without a wideband.

your car should easily do 140

it just wont do it in MPH

That '94 will do 118mph WOT on a good day going downhill with a tailwind topless - you MIGHT get to 125 with the HT. Thats BEFORE you increased the aerodynamic cross section of the car by installing the body kit.

Any post you make on this forum is null and void until you openly admit that you didn't do 138mph in that car. Short of dropping it out of an airplane or off a cliff IT DIDN'T HAPPEN
