Default New Guy...No miata yet...

Whats up guys and gals. As the title says I dont acctualy own a miata. I own a 92 Honda Civic with an H22. Fun car but im selling it.

With the money from the civic, I want to get a miata. Not sure NA or NB...

I honestly find the nb;s much nicer. Maybe a few pics of na's would proove otherwise. As I wouldn't mind an na. Seen a few for real cheap. Which would allow me to acctualy put some money into the thing...

Well glad to be apart of the board here. And hope to learn more about miatas.

PS... I couldnt seem to find a thread of pure pics. If anyone could please direct me if there is one It would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks
Derek

Hey welcome. I have a 96 Civic hatch with an H22 and just got an NA myself. Still torn between which is more fun, though on a "nice weather" day it's definitely the Miata. Good luck finding one!

If you can't decide whether a torque-less fail wheel drive civic or a boosted miata is more fun you've obviously never driven a properly set up boosted miata. There is no comparison.

I will concede that I have not driven a properly boosted Miata, since mine is still N/A. I'm sure at 200hp the Miata is a million times more fun than the same power in the Civic, though with 155 lb-ft to the wheels in the middle of the powerband I don't know that I would refer to the H22 as "torque-less," esp. for an N/A motor.

To the OP, there are tons of body kits for NAs so its really up to you what you like. Personally i would have gone with an NA since they are lighter and they dont need to pass emissions here in illinois however the fact that i live in the rust belt prevented me finding an NA that still had good underbody and running gear. Either way, you will have tons of fun with each. The rear wheel drive is nothing like the front.

2800lbs? Get on a scale man. My car weighed 2510 with my sitting in it. As a personal note, I think the NB has better lines, but the NA I believe has more aftermarket parts available. You gotta know what you prefer. Whatever you find will be accepted on here. Welcome!

The NA has few extra bodykits and few extra fuel management systems, i assume since it has less restrictions > freeier boundaries...

Where can i find a scale?

NA for sure. I managed to find a summer driven one in Ohio. NO rust. Look around and you can find some really nice ones.

If you get an NA you would be better off with a 94'-97'.
