Default Hi, kind of skipped this sorry guys...

Hey, how's it going I'm Owen I'm from the Cleveland, OH area. I got my miata in trade, I traded a beat 02 honda civic SI for it; this being probably the best decision car wise that I've made so far.

About the car:
2000 LS
1.8L 5spd
Car has about 41,000ish miles on it as of now.
Basically bone stock minus the chrome role bar and chrome door sills

Plans are:
Turbo t25 w/ front mount
MSpnp ecu
Upgraded rods
Act clutch

Doing the work myself with the help of my buddys who all run 240sx's I wanted something a little different. All help is taken and sorry about being a douche before I just don't take **** talking lightly, I wasn't trying to offend anyone. Pics will come shortly please pardon my spelling I am online from my phone a lot.

Haha...yeah, probably...those cars sucked.

Welcome.

I would get your MS up and running first, then slap in injectors and retune. You'll want to replace the clutch before going turbo...and "upgraded rods" sounds like a built motor, which you won't need with a T25. If you do plan on building a motor you can set your sights much higher, like 2871 high (or more).

Anyhow, I'd run with what you've got first. Stock rods are pretty safe up to 250whp...which is a lot in a Miata. Horsepower and chrome are inversely proportional though, so in your case the rods will ventilate the block at around 230whp.

thats the plan picking up the MS asap selling a 3.0L engine out of a mitsubishi i have here for 500$ then buying the MS and getting it up and running on that then putting my injectors in and tuning from there again then these are the rods im getting M-Tuned B6/BP Mazda Connecting Rod
and im going with a metal better head gasket because it has been replaced already and its just some cheap pos gasket and possibly going with different pistons and rings from wiseco since they sponsor me for motorcycles i can get a decent deal on that its going to be piece by piece putting this together nothing fast build wise but eventually it will all get done

Owen, may I call you magna jr? J/k, inside joke, blah blah.

Welcome! It would be worthwhile to post your location right in your user info, so that everyone can see it with every post. This, just in case there is someone close by that can give you some help. Small world, you never know.

+1 to what Gospeed said. Do the megasquirt, forget the engine build until you really need it. You can even accumulate parts in the meantime, but for now with a T25, you are good to go. Maybe you want to look at spending in suspension and tire mods, instead?

Also, is this going to be a driver, or a track or autocross car? Have fun, man. Hope the weather turns around so that us in the North can get out there and drive again. Oh, and don't let the ball busting bother you too much. I think that's a lot of what's fun around here.

Will

Thanks man I'm not sure what I'm doing for wheel and tire yet,as far as suspension I'm holding off till I get back from my deployment,I know I should hold off on building the engine with rods and what not but I'm the kind of person that would rather be safe then sorry...I've seen low pressure kill a engine fsast and its not my idea of fun to rebuilt the whole thing lol, well it is but not when I have to spend money on getting a block bored. I'm not sure what I want to do with the car right now its going to be a daily drive/every now and then hit the drag strip since I only live about 5 minutes from a 1/4 mile track. As for the location in my posts for some reason it won't let me do it from my phone.
