Question Hello From Reno Nevada

Hello;
I am a new user as well as new to Miata's . I had my 94 miata for over a year now.

I joined hoping to find some technical help on replacing my oil pan after hitting a rock last week and cracking the pan.

You have to jack the motor up to replace the pan. If you dont have wrenching skillz..get a shop to do it.

I can wrench. but my experence is with muscle cars. this is my first Mazda
Still doing the research but it looks like the best way to lift the motor is using a cherry picker so I can Stabilize the motor than use a floor jack to drop the cross member down enough to remove the pan RIGHT!

Do you have any tips on dropping that Cross member? I know I have to disconnect the steering. Whats the best process for those two steps?
I have looked at many manuals and PDF file out there but can find nothing on a step by step removal of the cross member. Any help would be appreciated

Cross member? = K-Member?

Just un-bolt it from the body and don't forget to support the motor from above. \

Oh yea disconnect the tops of your dampers.
