I went from three turbo cars to a V6 and now a Miata :)
Hi guys,
I just want to introduce myself and give a brief history of my past owned cars.
My first "project" car was a 1978 Datsun 280z in near perfect condition. I pieced together a turbo from the L28ET motor (280zx turbo) and ran a mild/stock boost on it.
I sold that car and purchased a '98 Eclipse GSX and did a few mods such as a 16G turbo upgrade, Road Race Engineering downpipe/high flow cats/intercooler, a full N1 exhaust, manual boost controller, etc.. It was stock suspension with EVO 8 wheels.
I traded that car for an '03 SRT4 with mild mods. This car had character. I know people hate it. It was loud, it was poorly built, but I love it to death.
Sold that and bought a '03 350z and did some bolt-ons.
Then sadly, I became **** poor and needed money. Sold the Z, bought a cheap Miata for the weekends.
Now I'm itching for a turbo and hopefully in the future, I can update this thread with a Turbo Miata on my list.
Cheers!
I can post pictures of my cars, if you guys want.

Whoa, is that how it is in Hawaii?
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I will post pictures as I find them on my HD.
My 280z was actually a rarity because the interior was in pristine condition and all original. The motor had 89k original miles when I sold it.
I also had keyless entry on it

Welcome
I never had an SRT-4, but I had the core of one in my PT Cruiser GT. with a tune, exhaust, WGA, and gauges to monitor, I had a blast beating on subies and Mustangs, and I even had me some SRT-4 a couple times I sold that because I had student loans to pay off and lost my job and... wait a minute... sounds familiar...
anyway, good luck with the Miata. and MOAR pics of the 280Z and SRT-4!

Not any that were really heavily modded, no, but a few that had some mods Best thing ever was when a WRX with a loud exhaust and a louder BOV would come up next to me, do a triple-take when he heard the BOV on my car, then we'd race and he couldn't lose me I did run dead even with a Legacy 2.5GT with a larger turbo running over 18 PSI though. I was pretty happy with my PT that night It wasn't the fastest car, but the sleeper aspect was a hoot.
I got tired of getting 21 mpg on Premium driving it normal and having higher payments, so the Miata fits the bill just right. Just add turbo...

I'm just giving you a hard time lol.
One of my scoobs did high 11's at 114+. It looked stock and you couldn't hear the bov
I picked on SRT4's all the time and would tell them all I had was exhaust
I actually kinda like the srt4/pt turbo setups. Only thing that sucks about em is FWD. Otherwise they're cheap, easy to work on, and make quite a bit of power with simple bolt ons.

Absolutely. Most of the kids I beat just thought they were cool cuz they had a WRX, dude. lol! But they can definitely be super quick. I watched an STi and an Evo get worked by a little lowered forester with a quiet exhaust. Hilarious.
I had an old Merkur that was rear drive... As much as I enjoyed my PT, I knew I'd go rear drive again someday. that's one of the biggest reasons the Miata drew my attention. The driving wheels and the steering wheels should NOT be the same wheels!
