Talking Introducing myself!

Hi there everyone! My name is Oren and I've been lurking MT forums for quite some time and I figured it's about time I joined and thanked everyone for the great information!

Little about me,22 now, I attend a Vocational school towards attaining my A&P Mechanics license I'm about a year in and have all my general and some air frame classes done.

I bought my first car (with my own money) over a year ago 2013 April. my now current Mazda MX-5 2000 SE(Mahogany Mica)!

and while I loved my car when I first got it (still do) like most people, it's not fast enough anymore!(getting passed on the highway by minivans(albeit w8 turbo) is not something I want to experience anymore!

So I've started a little bit of work to make it a little faster, but I don't need to tell you guys an intake and exhaust barely does much(it does sound makes feel better and smile though!).

So I've been reading as much as I can find about installing an MS3 in my car( I do not plan in any form of FI yet). I have a hard time finding anything specific to building one for a 99-00. and lots of old forums go on about having to change Alternators or CAS to the 97 ones to make it work, others say the newer MS3x can do it but then don't explain(I will use this loosely, I'm likely just to uneducated on the MS platform to understand it.) very well on how I would go about doing it.

more then a few times I've been tempted to send brain a PM and send him my money to make one. but the DIY in me says there is money to be saved!

so this humbly asks for guidance in the proper way to my miata a quicker with little $.

Welcome. Car looks nice.

Too bad you wasted the money on the I/E, but you should be able to resell.

Schuyler had problems with the MS3X FW control of the alternator and used a Westfield board for his. Others have gotten the FW control to work (talking '99-'00). The board is fairly inexpensive, so little risk to try without it. Reverant's MS2 Enhanced and 3X Basic have alternator control in them but more expensive than DIY.

Are the polished wheels from a 10A, or did the '00 SE come with them as well?

Thanks! and the wheels came with the '00 SE!
I've seen mixed write ups but nothing solid like what I find for the older models.

I'd go with one of these for trouble free operation and nice features: https://www.miataturbo.net/ms-labs-m...ms-labs-69930/
