New to this forum but not to Miatas
Good Morning all,
My name is Dan Lipperini and I was just made aware to your forum by another member who suggested I join and introduce myself. I am new to this forum, but not to cars, Miatas or Mazdas. My family has been active in SCCA racing for the better part of 35 years in everything from old British s*it to early 70's Mazda rotaries(RX-2/3/4's), 1st gen RX-7's, to new Honda S2000's and of course Spec Miatas. We campaign an SSC Civic Si, a T-3 S2000, a T-2 Mustang and help support 2 Spec Miata's, an EP BMW 325 and a few other local racers. Our raceshop, RaceLabz, is a full service race-prep shop that does 100% of our fabrication in-house. You guys can take a look at our site at Welcome to Racelabz, Your S2000 racing source - home of the fastest T3 S2000 Racecars . We specialize in rollcage/metal fabrication.
The other reason for joining your forum was to gather more information on forced induction for Miata's. My family currently owns 3 Miatas, but none are turbo'd at this point. My father keeps complaining that his NA needs another 50 or so HP, so I am looking for him also. I also just purchased a '95 (off of a forum member) to build into another Spec Miata for the 2009 season.
Oh yea I almost forgot, I do own another Miata. I have a very custom Honda S2000 powered 1990 Miata! I know you guys HATE those things as evidenced by another thread here on the forum. Even though I will catch ALOT of heat for this one, I will post up some pix as I enjoy stirring the pot anyway. Let me know what you think.

Welcome aboard Dan. I get a feeling that you're going to be able to contribute a lot!
Really nice first post. I suggest you start b/sng here in your own thread until you reach the minimum 15 mandatory posts to be able to buy, sell parts or pm any other forum member, lol. Mods don't encourage that but some of us will give you reasons to reply

If I need to remove anything from my post, let me know and I will do so. For the record, I run a race-prep shop and do work on customer cars. I do not make any products that are available that you can buy off of the website, everything is custom one-off work on a particular car. Just let me know the rules and I am more than happy to comply.

Welcome. Aren't you on lvmoc? Thought you were selling the s2k powered Miata?
I know Jeff in this pic through Joe & Sandy(his sister) Lee.
Yes, I have posted a few times on LVMOC and yes I am selling the S2000 powered Miata if someone has the $$$.
I have been doing more and more Miata work/prep, so I decided to build one for myself for next season so I figured I would join the forum so I can chronicle the tear-down and rebuild for Spec Miata.
That picture is from the 2007 SCCA Run-Offs just before the start of the SSC race.

You've done perfect so far. There's no hidden agenda in my post; I'm just trying to get your post count up faster.
If I sound like I'm trying to screw with you please accept my apologies. Check my sig and you'll see English is a second language for me

Welcome Dan, you are a celebrity of sorts in the club racing world. I don't know you, but I see your name all over the place in race publications (and I hardly race anymore). I'd said sticking another engine a Miata (especially one from high<er> performance car) pays a pretty big compliment to a Miata. And all Miatas need turbos.

If anyone is ever up the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA way, feel free to look me up and stop by the shop. You never know what will be there, but lately it seems like everyone is dropping off Miata's for one thing or another.

Always nice to have someone with real racing experience coming in. M2cupcar said it pretty good with "all miata's need turbo". If you haven't driven a 250hp Miata you are in for a real treat. Boost is exactly what they need and they respond great to it. It didn't ruin the characteristics we love about them at all. It just has more of everything.
When your Dad said his car needed another 50hp he's off the mark. It needs another 150! 10-12 lbs of boost is very safe with a good tune and stock motor. With an efficient system that's 220-250hp.
Welcome. Look forward to your input and help around here!
