Nice forum with great information.

Just got '95 montego with 56k & HT. I have no info on 1st owner, but it's also mainly weekend car for it's 2nd owner. This is my 1st ever NA/MX-5 and will mostly be a weekender. It came with a "Frenzy" type bar and 16" OZ wheels/tires combo, that I will most likely get rid off.

I will put the stock wheel/tire combo & seat back brace back on, a complete fluid exchange program. 1st, I'm thinking of starting with FM stage 2.5 suspension pkg & cat back exhaust. Then, let the mods begin.

Dont take it like that kjr50, we get alot of idiots that come here and flood just to post in certain sections or PM members, just take a few days and read. There is so much info here. Youll get to your needed posts in no time if you do it the right way.

Spam posts to get your count up is grounds for BANNED. It may be harsh, but it makes it just hard enough that the douchebag scammers move on to other forums. YOU sound legit, but don't try and get around the rules... and don't make posts that don't contribute just to get your count up.

You just got the car, so take your time and do the homework right. The FM susp package is a nice "package", but you might find you can piece together superior equuipment for less if you're willing to buy it at several places and used.

Getting rid of those OZ's is probably a good idea... no idea what they weigh, but probably like gym weights. Ditch the "style" bar before you drive it another mile.

If you have any future goals of turbocharging, don't buy an exhaust now. Turbo exhausts are the same price as NA exhausts. If you start with a 2.25" Borla or FM now while you're naturally aspirated, it'll be harder financially to sell it and upgrade to the 3" you should have waited to buy in the first place.

Dont upgrade your exhaust now, if you put on a turbo you will have to do it again.

You see? You don't need to artificially up your post count. You can just answer any comment or suggestion some of the members make and you'll be there in no time.

BTW, I suggest you follow Sam's advice.

Welcome to the forum.

FM stage 2.5 suspension pkg
rule of advice: if you're buying something that's labeled as a "stage" it's probably overpriced and not as great as the label makes it out to be.

cat back exhaust.

Cool, I'll wait on the exhaust. I couldn't justify spending huge $$$ for coil-overs and thought tokico illuminas, fm springs, sway's, & rear mounts are good enough for weekend cruiser plus couple of track event/year.

Thanks again for the heads up,

remove the rear bar and it would suffice, but i still think you can do better.

very nice 95, I love the hard top. I'm with you though, those wheels need to go. They're simple, just not quite what i'd do though. Swap them out for the 2nd gen 16's, i like those quite a bit.
