Hola, my name is Travis. Im here to maybe learn about some turbo miata stuff. But first, ill give a little insight on what i have so far.

I have had 23548923475325 projects so Ill try to keep this short. I started in the Honda game. I bought a lot of piles in high school and beat the hell out of them. Ill skip the boring details but in college i did this:

for those not familiar with honda stuff that is a H22 swapped out of a japanese prelude with a t3/t4 slapped on it(circa 06ish). its actually under the knife(read: in pieces) getting a hx40 swapped into it. I have a sleeved block and forged rotating assembly but have never actually brought myself to get it in the car. its currently a F-series shortblock(from an accord) with a prelude head slapped on it. Its a disaster but i enjoy beating up on LS1 cars with it when it runs.

this is around the time i got the miata. I bought this thing from a local guy that enjoys road course and auto-x stuff. Well after going for a ride in it I fell in love with it and it had to be mine. Found out after the fact that the motor was on its last leg and needed to be replaced. the car is actually waiting for its 5th motor since i have owned it(read: im quite hard on stuff). its turbo'd with no means of tuning besides a FMU and a rather aggressive shot of methanol. its surprisingly effective on 15lbs with c16 in the tank, its hard on motors without said c16.

pic n stuff:

lame youtube video:

after I graduated college I decided to step things up a bit. I bought an RX7 and dumped more money than I care to discuss into a 408 LS swap. Here is a quick vid of that:

its actually currently broken too as i cant keep a trans in the thing(read: nitrous breaks things)

ANYWAYS, im here because my miata has been sitting in the back of my garage for a few years now being worthless and i need to fix it. a couple years ago i swapped the motor only to find out the motor was messed up. BUT then this deal came along:

https://www.miataturbo.net/insert-bs...land-ne-72209/

so now i have another good motor AND a (dated) means of tuning the car so i am going to give it another go. So you read all of that to find out that im really just here to maybe figure out the link system and maybe buy/sell some stuff if i actually ever get organized enough to find any of the miata parts ive stashed away over the years.

kay, i think im done with my first post.

I was actually just kinda reading up on the megasquirt. the real issue is that im too lazy to assemble it myself and im too cheap to pay someone else to do it.

Paying someone to build a Megasquirt has to cheaper than putting 5 engines into one car.

Even if you're getting engines for $200 you'll be much better off paying the $700 for a Reverent MS2e

do it

Then don't mod cars. At all. Ever.

It will solve both those problems.

Wow, the first thing I saw in this thread was the civic. After seeing that, I wasn't surprised by the rest of the fail.

I only blame one of the four previous motors on my own stupidity. The rest were effed when I bought them.

After the 2nd motor (taking your word that the first was actually on its last leg) you should have been realizing there was another problem.. some of these guys on here are at like 180k miles pushing 12-15 psi and runnin like a sewing machine.

I will buy a megasquirt when tuning mine. Im not that fond of pulling engines due to my own negligence

So much assuming going on here, do you guys all have vaginas?

First motor was trashed. It ran but not well.
Second motor came with a complete car as an extra. Was told it was good, it was not.
Third motor came out of said complete car, was good. This is the one that was my fault. I foolishly let a ls1 camaro owner talk me into racing him and I had some 93 mixed with the c16. With c16 in the tank it ran great (and smelled good too).
Fourth motor came from a wrecked miata that I bought. It seems to run good but the pulleys wobble so bad it throws the belt around 4k. I still managed to put about 50 miles on it being nice and it developed a knock so im guessing it has bigger problems than a bent crank pulley.
Motor number 5 has not yet been pulled from the donor car so we will see.

No, he just wants someone to buy one for him and install it into his car for free.

Solid plan if you ask me.

I should do the same

No you don't understand. He's changed, now he has a link.

I will say, however, that it is nice to have a noob that can take it dry as we like to give it without bitching about having to bite the pillow.

No. My honda has neptune with an innovate wideband. My rx7 has hp tuners with a nice innovate dual wideband setup. Honestly I didnt realize that a plug n play solution existed for less than a grand so it may get a squirt. See, im learning so much already!
