Default MSM Forum Lurker from Hawaii

Hi all. Like many folks here, I've been reading the forums for a while but never posted till now, so let the flaming begin.

I have an '04 MSM with light mods in order of expense:

Carbon fiber HT
15x7 +40 Bronze Konig Helium with 205/50/15 Nitto Neogen tires (not mounted yet...)
Corksport intercooler and intake tubing
Corksport 80mm MSM exhaust
FM throttle-body inlet tube
HKS SSQV BOV
Joe-P manual boost controller

Currently sitting on the sidelines till I have time to install:

Zietronics ZT-2 wideband
Olderguy 02 clamp
Greddy Profec-B Spec II EBC
Samco radiator hoses
Beatrush PPF-to-Diff brace (still waiting to come from japan)

And everyone likes pics...

This was with the old monster 18" wheels from the PO:

The wheels got super caked in brake dust cause the road to that photo spot is "The Road to Hana" on Maui when I brought the car over via ferry when the ship first started it's service. It's a super long extremely twisty road with several nice stops - killer on your ride though.

As it looks now:

Anyway, I hope you guys like it. It's pretty fun to drive, but I come from a history of high displacement Camaros (still have 2 1/2) so to me this car is really lacking bottom-end torque. I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping it as I'm looking for a C5 Z06 'vette to play with, but I like this car for now.

I like this forum because it's way more relaxed feeling than mazda-speed.net and more performance oriented than cr.net. I'm the type that enjoys modding cars for both looks and performance and with this car they probably have about equal priority. With the muscle cars though... it's all about the ***** baby.

I wish I could hook-up my k-brace.

Nice car. How much was all the intake piping?

How do you say "one love" or the equivalent in whatever native Hawaiian dialect?

Thanks for the welcome guys

The intake/intercooler set-up ran about $700.

I honestly don't know the Hawaiian language much beyond aloha, mahalo, ohana, and the hawaiian names of some plants/animals. I'm not even sure how the sentence structure works. It's sadly a dying language even here, though many local schools offer it as a class.

So are you on Oahu, and just super-ferry'ed it over for the road to Hana? I wondered who would take their cars on the Ferry (I grew up on Oahu).

Nice ride!

^ Yep, you got it. I took my girlfriend to Maui for a few days for her birthday and brought the car along for the ride. To be honest with you, the ride to Maui was so terrible that I'll never take it again. I don't think I've ever felt that sick in my life... maybe it was just an especially choppy day for boating, but it killed it for me.
The way back to Honolulu was smooth as glass though. They go south of Molokai going to Maui (through the rough Molokai Channel) and come back on the much smoother North side of Molokai. I don't see why they can't take the same Northern route both ways.
