Default Hi from PA - '96 Miata

Hey everyone,

I'm a 22yr old college student and I'm tired of getting spanked by my buddies ‘82 Cimarron! (It's actually a '91 Celica)

This Miata is my second car. First car was an '85 Celica which is still awesome, even though it's not driven much anymore.

I'm looking into turbos and have been trying to read as much as I can. I'm pretty good with mechanical work but haven't had much experience with electronics, basically building a Megasquirt is out of the question but I think I can handle a MSPNP or a Braineack built one.

Currently I'm looking at a 170-180 hp goal with a budget of about $3500.
I'm thinking a FM no electronic kit + MS should be right around my budget.
(I need a wb02 also, right? Is there anything else?)

Then obviously clutch and exhaust soon after.

Anyway enough rambling. Here are some pics.

And here's the Celica

Nice to meet everyone, back to reading now.

Welcome, nice intro post. Its always nice to have another PA member. Why do you have a whp goal of only 170-180?

Nice car by the way.

Welcome! Car looks great! You are just a bit further out in PA than a good friend of mine... He lives in Norristown. I'll be there out there tonight actually lol

Nice car by the way.
Just trying to be conservative. I think it's pretty easily achievable, and as always, projects continue and goals get larger.. so we'll see where I end up.

Thanks, I got a deal on it since it was an R-title (Front end collision, bent the bumper/drivers fender and a bit of the support under the headlight). It came with the hardtop, which is good since the soft top doesn't have a back window haha

Planet Miata is from the wrong(eastern) side of the state as well, they can hook you up if you need used parts. I'm from the Pittsburgh area.
