Hey everyone! Im Eric and I got a 91na. I bought it stock with 74k on the car from some friends of mine 2 months ago, and have been making it my project since. I finally made an account although I always searched forums for the questions I've had. Got alot of parts and build left on the car, which I will get a build thread going soon. Heres a list of things I've done so far:
T3/T4 Single Turbo setup (stock ecu and injectors for the moment)

Welcome, what are you doing for fuel beyond your fuel pump?

As of right now, nothing. Stock fuel lines and injectors. Very soon I will be getting a Megasquirt 2 standalone and 460cc injectors and a dynotune (timing retard too). Btw Im from Portland! (actually Hillsboro if you are familiar with the Beaverton area) spent the first 18yrs of my life all over that area. Glad to see a fellow Oregonian!! Your '93 looks like it sees the track. P.I.R?? Im not familiar with very many other tracks there.

Yeah PIR is a legit track. Been there to watch races as a early teenager. I cant wait to see the ORP track! My family wanted a warmer climate and we had friends here so it was a easy choice. I miss the northwest though. I will be up there visiting in november I believe. We have a huge formula 1 track being built here. You can read about it online. Should be a great track when its finished. How long you been taking your '93 to the track?

Ah yes, the circuit of the Americas, I'm an avid follower of F1 and have been following it's progress. Any chance theyll host track days there? I might drive to austin just to say I've raced on an F1 track.

Been tracking for about 6ish years, averaging 2-3 days a summer. Visit out race prep section if you're interested in tracking your own.

I think that they will have track days when there isn't a race going on. It would be a great track to get to do some laps on! It should be finished within a year I believe. That will give me some time to finish turning my miata into a ready track car. You are running a standalone correct? Soon I will be ordering a Megasquirt PNP standalone and larger injectors. Know of any sites currently having deals? Or recommend any?

Save money and have someone build you one. Wayne_Curr built mine, Braineack does a bunch, as well as a few others. You'll save roughly $200 over the MSPNP, only difference is you'll have 12" of cable going from the stock harness to your MS. Handy if you want to mount it other places though.

I do run standalone. I ran bandaids on track for years. It can be done, I wouldn't suggest it.

Ok I'll look into that. My friend here had his standalone made like your talking about. The only thing is that he gave the guy his exact specs (turbo size, compressor trim, injector size etc.) where as the MSPNP can be changed at any time right? And I planned on getting a dynotune immediately after installing standalone, injectors and wideband o2. But it sounds like theres pros and cons to both a built standalone and megasquirt, correct? Built is cheaper, mspnp is more $ but more convenient? What about as far as getting a dynotune on either?

Both tune exactly the same, you plug a laptop in to a serial port. The mspnp costs $700 last I checked, and the only benefit over having a member assemble one for $500, is a plug on the side of the case that accepts the stock ecu plug (instead of an adaptor harness), and slightly more peace of mind. Then again I velcrod mine to the side of my transmission tunnel (vibration) and raced it, with no issues.

Once they're plugged in and working, mspnp or an assembled kit are the same for software, street tuning, dyno tuning, etc. Read the "everything you need to know about MS" thread.

P.S. You need a wideband for both, and if you have a turbo, both versions of MS require larger injectors.

Ok will do. And a new MSPNP is $595 on DIYautotune. Not sure if that changes things much. I will pm them both and see what comes of it. Thanks
