Default noob from south west Scotland

Hi all,

just a quick post to say hi and let yous know a little about me and my miata.

Im 18 and always loved them so as soon as i could insure one I went out and got my mk1 1.6 eunos in silver.
I am into drifting, speed and track days but live to far away from any track to justify just a track car :(

I am intending on Turbo'ing it, I heard alot of people used TD04's off an sti and got offerd one a little later on and like a noob jumped in and baught it cheap as chips and joined mx5nutz to find that they are over rated, thought this would be the best place to ask?

If they are over rated I would go for either T25 or T28.

Also planning on running mega squirt ECU

what would you guys recommend?
any help and opinions would be great as struggling getting my head round everything on my own

Looking for 200ish bhp and will probably want to increase in the futour.

Thanks

Andy

Welcome to the site!

If you have not already, read the sticky in the DIY turbo section. Starting with Megasquirt is a great start. I would get that up and running on a stock engine first before you start trying to turbo anything. That makes it easier to pinpoint any problems instead of installing the whole system at once and then wondering where to start if something is wrong. You need to read extensively before you dive in to anything if you want to have a chance at doing it right. For your horsepower goal I would suggest a T25 turbo for good spool and a wide variety of turbos with that flange for upgrading in the future.
