Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I was considering removing the seat mounts from the floor board the same way he did, that is the last resort.
For those who don't know what i'm talking about:

I was also impressed with the stance you took on the clubroadster thread debacle. Glad to have you around here Keith.

Yeah, i have the targamiata site in my bookmarks. It's one of the sites that is giving me the intestinal fortitude to attempt a DIY paint job on my car.

How's the paint on the targa holding up Keith?

Thanks for the welcome, folks.

The Targa paint's holding up pretty well. During some off-course testing (I wasn't driving!) the bottom half of the nose got scraped up. Easy to respray and you can't blame the paint. In the same incident one of the front fenders caught on a tire and took a bit of paint off the lip. I know it's there but nobody else has noticed. I'll touch it up with a brush. I sure bit off a big bite for a first paint job, though. About the time I was masking for the cyan stripes, I realized how crazy it was.

Cutting those seat mounts out was fairly extreme, but it was the right answer to the problem I was facing. I have a tall torso (sounds better than saying I have stumpy little legs, doesn't it?) and I wanted to be upright in the car to see as well as possible. In a car with a less intrusive roll cage and a seat that puts you lower than the Corbeaus do, it probably wouldn't be necessary.

Hi Keith. I have your books so that makes me your instant friend right? Welcome here.

You should come to the Delaware dyno day on April 5th and bring the FM Westfield. That would score FM some major instant pointage.

Have Jeremy tag along as well. He can show us what he can do with the Hydra at sea level. I know some of us will be there with the Hydra.

Delaware? Guys, we're in Colorado! If we're going to tow the Westfield 4000 miles (that's about $1400 in gas alone), there's going to have to be something a lot more exciting than a dyno at the other end. We will have it in Atlanta for the Mitty though.

How about we throw a big party for everyone at our place? We can have a track day, ECU tuning classes, free food, great roads, a chance to check out the shop...

dont be lazy. it's only 2000 miles to drive there. just grab lunch in breckenridge and head out on 70. you can nap in omaha.

We all know you are in Colorado and are moving to a new shop. Great roads huh? Have you ever been to Delaware? It's freakin awesome. Some of the on-ramps even have a slight bank to them. Think you have scenery? Please...the delaware quarter is so much cooler than the colorado. Has it even come out yet?

FYI, besides having a dyno at some hole-in-the-wall mustang shop (nicest guys ever though), we will have hotdogs. Supposedly. I'm not quite sure who's paying for those yet.

What is "the Mitty" in Atlanta?

Welcome FlyinHomoCar,

I bought your deal of the day today just because it was a fair deal and you are a sponsor of this site. Hopefully it will help you recoup some of your cost for the sponsorship..

P.S. Don't Tell Jason he might eff up my shipping because of the Douchebag comments..

P.S.S. That was a joke..

P.S.S.S I’m afraid to come out there for your party because he might hit me. I’m old, fragile and break like a Ford.

oh hey while we've got a new sponsor thread for FM, I have gotta give this feedback:

Keith, I recall you were doing the website stuff. one thing that's always been awkward to me was the way the "back" and "next" interface works on the "latest updates" photos for the projects in the shop.

I like to read them from oldest to newest but the << and >> seem counterintuitive to me.

What's more, the westfield site is the opposite way. (in my opinion, the right way)

anyway, i've always wished that >> would go to the future and << to the past. like the tape deck in your land rover...

ok that's all.

The Mitty Historic Sports Car Race is the ****, though it has gotten to be a bit of a PITA with all the people that have been showing up the past few years. Makes my 10 minute ride home from the track take more like 20 minutes. Bastards.

It would be cool to hook up and at least grab a beer, if not an actual meal, with anyone who comes this way for the event.
