Smile new guy from El Monte, CA

Hello, my name is Max D! Im currently a college student at Cal Poly Pomona. I am SUPER new to the miata scene as i have just switched over from the turbo 240sx community about 1/2 a yr ago.

Im currently driving a stock 126,xxx miles 2001 NB miata. Only modifications so far are Flyin' Miata vmaxx coilovers and Flyin' Miata rear and front anti-sway bars, sitting on some ugly xxr 002s. I plan in the near future to get a turbo kit for my miata but as of now, i am still researching and planning out what i want to do (i.e. DIY or get a straight kit like from FM, or Begi, etc) Future goals are boosting to a modest but reliable 200-220whp on my miata to track. First time on this forum! Lookin forward to chatting with you guys. Lots of questions but ill do my due diligence and search, search, search so u guys dont eat me alive.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. Just don't do anything crazy like driving that pretty car into walls or curbs. They are made for the track and they do that well. They don't derft. We leave that to the 240s because they have a higher polar moment of inertia and do it better. But they can't corner with us on the track.

oh yes, i know. I was getting tired of drifting because it started to seem like an increasingly waste of money for me as i became older and started having more financial responsibilities, despite how fun it was. However, I definitely dont plan to drift this miata. It seems like an incredible waste of a car if i did do so. Ill leave that for the next 240 bucket i purchase if i ever get back into that scene. If anything, this will either become my DD or a fun turbocharged weekend car.
