_________________________

I installed a FM voodoo turbo into my old '99AE a few years ago, and since then I've really missed it, the turbo that is.

I looked at the car today, was nicer than I had expected. The seller was a nice guy, in his 60s, back going out, no time to play around with it anymore. He's also a member on the M.net board. He bought the car from a moderator there. I'm hoping he is still active, may have a couple questions for him. The car is blowing smoke pretty good when your on the gas - it's thick gray smoke, not coolant. I'm thinking a ring is toast and either the engine will need to be rebuilt or a new one put in (I've never attempted either, but have had the inclination to do one) especially given the mileage; after finals are over next week I'll do a leak down test and see what's going on. On my way home (90 miles), I got on it a couple times (careful to keep it under 8psi, until further investigation) ... wow - fast, just like I remember it.

Bonus: He had a corbeau seat in the garage too (almost new, didn't use because of his back) that I was able to fit in the car somehow. There was also some other fun bits like a shop manual, and a rod's enthusiast manual (already have both), bra, spare valve cover (he was going to have it polished or chromed).

We settled on 2800, a figure we were both happy with. The softop is in good shape, so the HT (no defrost!!) will probably be going on CL this week to help cover the cost of the car. Good times.

Without pics of said wife, we are not inclined to believe. Honestly, I question whether you are even married, or even straight for that matter.

But welcome to the thunderdome.

You seem to know miatas pretty good, or at least have owned plenty, so why are you getting rid of the HT? Or are you one of those people that actually like driving with the top down? Smoke is most likely head gasket, or pistons, or oil drain line, or oil feed line, or the turbo itself, or the head...

I am not 100% sure I am going to sell the HT (I'd love to keep it, buuuut we do have a black one which is aesthetically compatible with the Mariner and BRG), but when discussing the purchase with the boss this morning ... let's just say she made it part of the "agreement" we had. I may have to pull out all the stops to keep the top.

Al Gore invented imageshack for just that reason.
