Default North of the border - looking for more power

1st off this will help you stay positive and happy before you crush all us newbies uninformed dreams and lack of understanding

ZOMBO

I just got a high mile 140000miles/230000km's 2002 SE in yellow. I am in Alberta Canada. It is a DD even in the winter. (I already have some Semperit winters in a 185/65/15 on black steelies)

I would like 200whp out of it. (at least as it can be addictive)

I will probably by used parts piece by piece to obtain a more inexpensive build. The kits are nice but expensive for me.

I have rebuilt 2-stroke and the new 4 stroke motocross bikes (I race on occasion), and haven't taken a vehicle into the shop for 10 years. I am a decent home mechanic. Not really into electrical but I did convert my S10 from AHL and DRL into an quad beam HID/HIR with running fogs and full relays so I can do the easy electrical if i must.

I still dont know a lot about FI and the associated electronic controls for fuel etc but am willing to learn.

What I need is a full kit lightly used shipped to my door fully tuned for my car with every bolt nut, ziptie etc with around 200hp (also a toggle switch for my wife and borrowers to drop it to 2 psi boost) all for $2500.

Start your bidding war now!

I wish it were that easy !!

I have all winter to plan this out (and save up $) then will install in spring (sooner if $$ and deals come around). I am confident this site can help.

Thanks in advance.

Why not?

Used kit 1200.00 to $1500

clutch $400

$500 or less, fuel management, DIY, or used something.

$75.00 used oem 550cc

Screw the toggle. I like MBC. It doesn't jack up in the winter. NSX $16.00

You may have to wait a little. It can be done.

And you do have to tune yourself. haha

Heck we have a local guy ARtech that might build you a mani and downpipe very reasonable.

And run a ebay turbo.
Just don't use a ebay kit.

But with that bank roll for one big bang.. You can have about what you want for a used kit.

Heck you can get a shanghi fron begi. and a ebay I/C.

There were some kits in the forsale section well under that price range.

I don't see too much of an issue with your goals or your budget. It just takes a lot of time/patience. Check out the For Sale area here religiously, check Flea-bay, and even the other sites F/S sections. I'll tell you as an avid penny pinching gear head, this site has some of the greatest deals on the planet for used parts.

My carrillo rods ran me like $375 and I got a brand new never used/installed Supertech valvetrain for something like $380 all said and done? un-effing-believable, I'd say.

I would look heavily into Megasquirt for your needs. The learning curve will be high, but if its savings your going for, that;s the ticket. I am dropping something like $1000 on my used hydra right now, before injectors. Maybe into it for a total of $1450 after everything, so that's a bit of a chunk of from 2k.

Deals are out there, but you have to be very patient. Good luck!
