Not really. Have you driven a 14b or t25 dsm? Still less responsive than a miata, and those two turbos are about as small as you'd go.

The engine is great for making gobs of power with a huge turbo. Lowend torque and snappy response are not it's high points.

That does not appear to be the goal for OP. So I'm telling him to really think about it, if its really worth doing a whole swap for an engine that is better suited for other type of use.

If he was building a drag race or street race miata, I'd tell him to go ahead and do the 4G swap cause it would be pretty good for that. Run ALLOFIT on some absurd snail and spin til 6th

My friend's DSM has an HX35. Most responsive thing I've ever ridden if. If by responsive you mean the jerking of heads at an autocross with the VTA wastegate opens at 4250 as it finally hits full boot.

I mean... are you comparing some extremely old turbos in stock configuration against the GT2554/GT2560 ball bearing turbos on aftermarket manifolds and such that we put on Miatas.?

I can guarantee that with equivalent setup, a 4g63 will outspool and make more power everywhere than a BP. I'd put my entire life savings on it. BOTH dollars.

LOL

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it, just kinda giving a heads up.

I love the monstrous power the 4G's are capable. Always impresses me.

stop being a f@@got

obviously it will outspool and overpower.

we're alking about a CUSTOM ENGINE SWAP here. so the ends must justify the means.

I didn't do a quick turn around I was simply stating that if the itch ever bit me to go drag racing I simply could swap turbos and a fuel setup and go have fun

But once again it's going to be a street track toy so try not to twist my words please

It's not as custom as you think. What if i told you you could pretty much bolt this bad boy to an RX7 transmission?

I can bolt up the wide blocks to a km132 a starion and a rx7 trans these bolt up to a 4g63 wide block of a 4g64

Or if your like me u take a d50 and put starion guts in it and bolt it to your typical narrow 4g63

I would tell you that there would still be a bunch of stuff to fab up, wire in, and set up to make it work.

By those retarded standards any swap in the world is easy.

LS7 into a miata? Sure bro, just engine mounts and 3 wires. DONE

derp

look at all the swap threads on here. They only have 1 posts cause you can just knock it out in an afternoon...........right? oh wait......

I've never done a motor swap in my life and i have no idea what you're talking about.

If i ever do another BP, i'm not ******* around with a PNP deal anyways, because PNP ECUs on old as **** motors/cars is the dumbest thing on the face of the planet, so.... meh to wiring. No change.

The point i'm making is that it's only hard if you go into with the mindset of it being nearly impossible simply because nobody else does them. Hard? No. Time-consuming? Almost certainly.
