Default Hello from Kentucky

(Sorry I wrote a book, I left a conclusion at the bottom so you don't have to read all of it if you don't want to.)

Hello everyone, my name is Wes. I am currently a senior in college (Psychology) and I will be graduating in December. I'm from Elizabethtown Kentucky, but I currently live in Murray Kentucky. I have been into VW's for a while now, but they are way to expensive to modify. Yes, they are built wonderfully and have a lot of power to give in stock form. But breaking anything will cause you to cry yourself to sleep for a couple days. That said, I love the GTI for daily use because it has lots of space. Also it builds boost really quickly and has more then enough torque to keep me pleased from day to day. I know quite a bit about VW's, and VW related stuff but I seem to fall short when it comes to Miatas, and turbo conversions.

I love the GTI but I'm left wanting more then a front wheel drive, fun daily driver... I want to have a fun weekend car, that I wont have to worry about blowing coil packs every 10k or a timing belt job that basically requires the engine being removed. So I am looking into the miata community for guidance. I have had the privilege to ride in a couple miatas and they seem like the perfect solution.

The goal of my build would be to find a cheap running 1994+ miata, then enjoy. First I will put in a roll cage and take care of any maintenance that has been neglected. Then strip out anything that isn't required, as this will be mainly a fun/auto-x car. I am already planning out turbo, and supporting mods but I'm still way to far away to start making concrete lists of parts. Eventually my end goals would be; completely tuned suspension (for track use via trail and error along with research), probably somewhere in the ballpark of 270 whp, brakes, LSD, and a completely stripped interior.

In conclusion, Hi I'm a 22 year old college student named Wes who wants a second car for weekend/auto-x use. I will be lurking on these forums absorbing as much knowledge as possible. Once I get closer to doing builds and actually finding a running miata, I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. But for now I will just do my normal, over research, over plan, and over complicate everything. Nice to meet all of you!
