This. Especially since he claims the buyer "lowballed" him and everything. Should be no problem to take the kit back, and resell it for a better price.

Dont really think that's screwing him out of $300.

Yes you ******* piece of ****.
If he lowballed you all you had to say was "no thanks".
You sold him the kit, fucked him over, and now using that as an excuse?

You will in the near future be shocked at how tightly knit this community is, how far it extends, and what its capable of doing. Good luck with your future sales.

http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=13

...and some valve that comes with the AEM kit that doesnt with this one that he also whined about....

He wanted a kit, he got one, now I will refund him for this kit:
http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=9

$285(what he paid)/$433(MSRP)=66%

.66*$172=$113

That's my deal. I'm not refunding without the kit and I doubt he wants to send it back without cash. Like I said, take or leave it.
You are saying that all that was missing was a part that costs $172 but you aren't willing to provide the part or the means to get one, but simply a discounted partial refund, that doesn't really rectify the situation.

You can't just say, he wanted a kit and got one. He did get a kit, but not the one you advertised. He asked if it was the FM kit and you said yes minus the gauge. It is on you to provide the shortcomings through the actual part, money to be able to buy the part from a readily available source, or refunding the entire kit. There is no other real option that you can offer. Any percentage derived from the MSRP and sales price to determine what you are willing to refund is asinine and illogical.

No, you screwed it up, so you make it right. Why should the buyer trust you to do the right thing when you've already demonstrated you are resistant to doing it?

You've already proven to be dishonest. Why would he send the kit back without a refund first? Hope you don't plan on keeping your miata.

This is why I buy exclusively from supporting members. People who actually give a **** about fellow miataians, and aren't trying to make a huge profit off their own community.

spd579 is scum. Refund the money, then never log back on MT. You're only digging the hole deeper, pal.

The next time spd579 logs in, I'm just going to auto-forward him to cr.net. Same thing; he's going to a car forum.

Well you see, I just bought this 50" Sony Plasma from Crutchfield but they sent me a 50" Phillips LED instead. When I called and asked "WTF?", they told me it was comparable in price to the Sony and that if I didnt like it to just re-sell it to someone else. So I guess this is common business practice even among the best of them.

There is simply no way I'm sending you this kit so you can keep the money AND the parts. You've shown here that you're utterly untrustworthy, if not an out-an-out liar and you don't seem to care at all if this $300 follows you around the internet for the rest of your life.

I would have to be a fool to just send you this kit on your worthless word that you will send me some of my money back. You screwed up. The only way you come out of this looking like anything but a complete piece of trash is to either go on Paypal and click that little 'Refund' button, or sending me enough money to buy the missing parts.

You don't get to just take this conversation to PMs at this point.

I have tried to be professional and courteous through all of this. I warned you several times what I was willing to do if you didn't take care of me, and your response was to ignore me like I wouldn't dare do it. Well this isn't high school, and I'm not the kind of guy who just throws $300 down the drain just to keep from having a confrontation on the internet. Hate it for you.

To the rest of that PM, your incentive is to do the right thing, to try to save SOME face. It really doesn't matter if I got my money's worth or not. I didn't get what I paid for, and what I did get is useless to me. I didn't go out of my way to trash your rep. All I had to do was post all of our PMs, and your actions have spoken pretty clearly for themselves.

Now, I know how much it sucks to eat it on a deal like this. I gave a guy back $1500 a couple of weeks ago in a somewhat similar situation:

http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=51201

I'm willing to ask the mods to delete this thread if you'll give me a refund. Your parts will be on the brown truck back to you within 24 hours. If you don't, I can guarantee that this thread will follow you around for the rest of eternity. People who don't suck really hate to see people who do suck get away with sucking.

You know, I bought his door bars from him (spd) and he didn't mention anything in the for sale thread about including pay pal fees. So I paypal'd him the 250 (advertised for 250 shipped) and he writes back saying that I need to still send the other 3% or whatever or I should have sent it as a gift. This whole thing weirded me out a little. I'm not sending 250 bucks to a stranger as a gift. Also, if you want your paypal fees, be up front in the for sale thread about it.

All that aside, I got my door bars and they were exactly as mentioned in the for sale thread. Even shipped quick.

I've been in his situation before (sending gifts on paypal instead of a regular payment) and it was my fault for not getting all the info so I had to eat it. you'll never see me on here whining and complaining about my own stupidity and ignorance. I just hope this little payment I sent keeps him off the streets and off welfare.
