Default Enough with the gay jokes

Hi everybody,
I just purchased a 1996 Miata with a godspeed turbo on it. It is pushing 8psi and I love it!
My next step is a rollbar, 225 tires, and hopefully a programmer and tune because I don't know what it already has and the boxes I have found have no input for a controller.
What programmer would you guys use and where would you get the tune in Phoenix?
Thanks for all the usefully information and witty banter on this site, I feel home already.
Nate

Wow, four cars in two years. What do your parents do for a living?

Do you plan on rolling over?

It'd probably help if we knew a thing or two about these "boxes" (pictures, even) however it sounds to me like a fully programmable ECU (eg: Megasquirt), a set of properly sized injectors, and a wideband O2 sensor might be in your immediate future.

Speaking only for myself, I use an eleven year old laptop running Windows 2000 and an RS-232 serial cable, though of course that's because I'm programming a Megasquirt. It all depends on what you're dealing with.

I have no plans on rolling over? But I would like the added rigidity and the ability to go to the track.

I will get pictures....

I'd imagine what you are so good at giving of course, 18psi! I mean, he has had 4 cars in 2 years!

I am just looking for some help here because I don't know anything about forced induction tuning.

I know I can get a LINK tuning module. Is this the way to go?

You rock man.

What price are you looking at on the LINK tuning module? Most people here go with Megasquirt as it's the cheapest option available, and tends to be the best documented. However, there is a fair bit of info on LINK setups as well.

The tuning module will cost about $300...
Since I already have the LINK control in the car would it be worth it to tear it out?
And would I be able to control the car more with the Megasquirt than the LINK?

Welcome to the forum.

Go with MegaSquirt, for sure. Since you are new to tuning/building, I would recommend a Plug N' Play Megasquirt from DIY or have some one (Braineack) build one for you.

MegaSquirt is widely used here and it will give you complete control over the car(more so than the link), that is why I recommend it. You will find help when needed.

By the way, that looks like a AVO turbo kit, not a godspeed. If you are wondering why that matters, it just does.

Oh wow.

Link is terrible.

Would not recommend it.

Also, welcome to Phoenix Miataness.
