Default Anybody speak English here, for non gear heads?

Hi there,
New member, and wanted to learn more about turbo systems and miatas in general. My wife owns a 99 miata with a turbo installed by a shop, she's the
3rd owner. Absolutely fun car, with tons of power for the weight. Apparently more than 200hp in this light car. Bell turbo.
I've been trying to decipher the posts in the forums, but can't understand a thing with all of the acronyms. Is there a place to find out what all of these mean for the idiots out here???

I've done well with Google with the ones' I didn't know, but then again I am a gearhead...

I think there is a post with some, but I can't find it just now.

Welcome to the forum. Two things you need to do.
1) Read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell (BEGI is a forum sponsor, I believe you can purchase it directly from them)
2) Read the FAQ's in this forum

Those two things will get you up to speed.

I'm a MC (Mechanically Challenged ) individual myself so I would suggest you get a copy of Corky's book: "Maximum Boost" and you'll start to get a general idea.

BTW, since I'm also a foreigner for whom English is a second language I also have trouble with many of the acronyms so I suggest you post any you see and want some info on in this thread and others will chime in.

I hope that helps.

P.S. I saw that Stein posted a reply before me about Corky's book so please accept my apologies

I'll start with that one! (QFT)

And oh btw, when I first started reading the forums for info on my Miata I thought FI was F1

I also remember asking once what PITA meant. Another forum member had to pm me that answer.

Another one: FTL (?)

Zabac already told me what MILF means

You don't know how long I've been seeing IMHO and IIRC without being able to guess their meaning.

Many thanks!

It's a shame that Google apparently doesn't work in the non-US Caribbean.

That one has been around a long time - at least since 98-99.
