Default Howdy, not turbo but two fun NB's in the family:)

I joined recently but this is my first post.

I bought a really nice low mile 2000, silver with tan leather, car to cruise around in the mountains of Utah with my new wife just last week. I was going to turbo it, bought some suspension mods, etc then decided to get another one and gave that one to her.

I bought a chassis last night to stuff the LS6 out of my Vette race car into
It will be plenty fast as it put down 390WHP in the Vette and that was just LG long tube headers, intake and mild tune

It will be a full on track, time trail and then W2W car, full cage right away, built tranny and diff, coilovers, fat tires, fender flares, brakes, etc. should be fun at around 2,300 lbs

So, no turbo Miata plans now. I have a Scion tC time trial car I built the system for myself, twin scroll GT3076, pretty fast car, I am just finishing up the new turbo setup (was SC'd last year), once tuned and a track event or two I will have it up for sale. (proven 350WHP on stock internals and reliable, same system will put down over 500WHP on a built engine and 93 octane, again quite well proven

Parting out and selling off the Vette, full world challenge body sitting new in the basement, selling off the tC and going to run Miata cars now, probably build my wife a track car as well but for now setting hers up to run solo and HPDE with a real roll bar, seat and harnesses, suspension, etc.

Glad to be here, I have owned two others for a short time but never really used them much, now finally getting with the program

Sincerely
Rick

I will

As soon as I have enough posts I will start listing parts I need and parts for sale

Since I am upgrading the brakes and know what I am going to use I would have to spend a fair amount on a new master cylinder and then a clutch one as well, lines, etc.....so.

I may just use the Tilton 3 way floor mount pedal setup I bought for the Vette, cost close to $1k but I also get true bias adjustment and save more weight(not like weight will be much of an issue in a full track Miata even with the LS6, power to weight is going to be a handful already

I also have a Woodward steering column and all the bits needed to use it, very sweet system but not really needed but I may use it anyway if it does not sell for a decent price, no use giving away trick brand new parts!

Though I now build my own cages I will most likely use a kit and just add to it where I deem required to stiffen the car more, make is safer, etc..I would like to have two seats in the car so I would have to modify it a bit on the passenger side to ensure enough room, far enough back, etc, or really recline the seat on that side(which I would do to a fair degree anyway to keep the weight lower in the chassis)

I could buy a nicely built roadster rolling chassis for a great deal but just not sure I want to run without a windshield and it would be tough to have a second seat in it, sure look cool and very fast but not sure I want to go that route. It already has big fenders, rear diffuser, custom front splitter/nose, and is very fast. If anybody is interested let me know and I will hook you up the the builder, probably a member here already anyway

I need coilovers, not sure I want to lay down the price of admitance for the 949 top set, any others worthy of using? I do want single adjustable as a bare minimum but really should have dual. I wish I could mod the nearly new Moton Club Sports that came on my Vette, I saw the reciept, with options $6,8k!!!!!!!ouch!!!!! I have them for sale for nearly half and not a bite, not even a nibble and they have even been dyno tested and proven to be perfect.

Thanks

Rick
