Hey guys and gals, this is my first post and wanted to stop by and say hello.

I just recently picked up a 1994 Miata after looking for a bit. It has 181k on the clock but I plan on replacing a lot of OEM parts anyways. My goal is to turn it into a streetable track car that will also be daily driven.

I also have a 2007 MX-5 that I plan on putting up for sale since I now have this one.
Also have a 2004 STi that is my "fun" car. Consumes too much gas to be practical on an everyday basis.

Everything on the car was on it when I bought it.

It has those Tire Kingdom v-line wheels or whatnot
Racing Beat intake
Jackson racing header
Exhaust shop custom exhaust apparently

Since the airbox is gone and the intake is directly above the headers, I put some thermal reflective tape on the metal tube to try and reduce some heat soak and cleaned the k&n filter

Also bought a jdm intake manifold before I even had the car cause I knew what I wanted with it.

I plan on 15x9 6UL and 225/50R15 nt01 or similar compound

Also much later on going with a Borgwarner EFR 6258 and hopefully ABSURDFLOW manifold and supporting mods.

I will attach pics later.

But just wanted to drop in

Looks like a nice car. The wheels are a bit goofy, as is the 4x4 ride height. Looks like another nice Miata next door!

I wouldn't be too afraid of mileage on these cars. They're robust. I would add a fresh timing belt and water pump as basic maintenance. That also gets you far enough into your car that you really know what you have.

Thanks, yeah I really don't like the wheels and the height but hopefully soon that can change lol

The miata next door is actually my old one that I had about 1.5 years ago and sold it to a friend I miss that one and then I bought the NC and really just don't feel the same about it. Got the itch to return to an NA

Well car died on the road going to try the fuel pump, checked fuses, every wire had spark.

Has symptoms of no fuel getting to motor so going to see what that does with a new pump, just got to gather motivation to start the job...Not hard just I'm lazy lol

Might want to check the filter too, especially with that many miles. Idk if you've already don't that or not, so sorry if you already have. Just figured I'd throw in another possibility .

Hey man thanks, last night pulled a fuel line to the motor off and put the ignition on. And fuel only dribbled out, so as soon as I buy a filter, we shall see.

I have a filter lying around but it was for my 91 not sure if the same, but I'll check on that

Thanks for your help

No problem. I really don't know if they're the same or not. I tried googling it, but I didn't really come up with anything. Might have just been the way I searched. Idk. I'd definitely check that before doing the pump though. Unless you're going FI really soon. In that case, pick up the high flow pump instead of the stock one. No point in spending the extra for the OEM if you'll be upgrading soon anyways

Yeah my buddy is going to pick up the filter for me, and the pump I bought but didn't take out of the box yet is precision fuel pump brand and I just searched, possibly not the best reputation..got it from O'Reilly. It is a 255lph pump though we'll see I guess lol

Want to go FI really soon but that'll come after suspension I think.

Also whil taking off the carpet over the pump cover, found a shitload of rust :( so I'll have to take care of that real quick

WOW someone had a nice top leak. Yeah get some parts to replace those. Looks good otherwise (wheels withstanding).

When you do timing belt make sure you do all the front seals, they all leak all the time.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to do the timing belt soon, put in New fuel pump, didn't fix but gave me a good look at the rust problem.

Took the carpeting out and rust isn't as bad mostly surface rust.

Thanks man, I'll look into that when tackling that project.

You know, I really want to keep my NC now... I don't know why, but I want to keep it but I can't. Car payment on top of insurance is too much. Especially since I have an NC, NA, and an STi. Been having a lot of fun lately with NC.

Hopefully I can get the NA to that level soon, just need better tires and wheels that look good. And suspension.

Going to try the Toda FIGHTEX I think. If not those, then the Öhlins.

So it is the CAS. We used a multimeter and the voltage was pulsing from 5v to 12v to 0v sporadically.

Tried going to a junkyard and they didn't have a 1.8L equipped Miata there.

Previous owner claimed it was a new CAS installed :'(

Wow your rear shelf metals are worse than mine were.... I got lucky and found a local guy on Craigslist who had the replacement metal panels and only wanted $35.

Yeah they are pretty bad, my friend who bought my 91 doesn't need his and had it powdercoated white so I'm going to pick that up from him
