Default noob dropping by to say hey

Right, well I just bought a 90 miata, white, 246k on odo and 64k on the 1.6 and two things, well a few. One I need to replace both wheel bearing assemblies in the front, so any insight is appreciated. Also the window regulator cables broke on each window so the cheapest route to fixing that would be great cause around $100 I believe for ONE new regulator sucks (they are manual) and finally I like 1.5" drop all around but I'm reallu felling 1.5 in the rear and 1.75" in the front would give it a greater stance. I'm just curious how bad the rubbing is with 195/50/15 tires when I get my wheels. Thanks!

Pretty sure you can ghetto-rig a bicycle brake/shifter cable. They are very similar and can be had for super cheap at any bike store.

I had it working till I remembered I had another regulator lying around.

There are 2 cables. One is to pull the window up, one down. The cables are attached to the crank and wind/unwind in the opposite directions - e.g. when you roll clockwise, one cable winds and the other unwinds. The cables are attached to the crank/window via little metal ends on the cables. The bicycle cables are identical except the metal ends are bigger, different shape and only on 1 end. But you can make it fit with some creativity.

Go over to miataforumz.net and PM miata2fast about the manual window regulator and hardware he just removed. He just gutted a door for racing and the regulator and cables were still good. I know because the door used to be mine.

Welcome and good luck.

Ace hardware sells the cable by the foot. 30 cents a foot.
