Hello ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Yuuyia ( Yes, actually! It's pronounced "U-ya" ). I'm twenty-nine residing in the North Georgia area at the base of the Appalachian Mountains. While being a short drive from both Blood Mountain, and Tail of the Dragon I don't go out there very much due to traffic in those locations along with the vast number of idiots that occur at both places. I prefer to do scheduled track days or sanctioned events so that I may enjoy the driving experience with minimal risk from the general populous.

As it states in my profile I have fourteen years experience in the automotive field. Beginning with fixing up my first beater while working at a quick lube service center, up to graduating from UTI's technician program ( I was not impressed with the quality of their curriculum ). I then worked at a few independent repair shops before serving some time in the armed forces. Once my time serving our nation was up I went back to working at independent shops ( To include 2 different performance shops geared only towards Japanese vehicles ), while also pursuing my own side ventures to generate income for feeding the habits of my right foot.

Which brings me to my general explanation as to why I have joined this wonderful world of the Miata / Miataturbo.net. I have been lucky enough through my career to drive a large variety of vehicles ranging from slow-yet-frighting to fast-albeit-boring. This combined with my OCD for quality over quantity has lead me to have what those around me consider a "tuner purist" mentality. I don't particularly care what someone thinks of what I wish to do with MY vehicle. That being said... constructive criticism, outside opinions, and advice are always welcome. Just don't be offended if choose to not do it your way.

I am presently in the market to purchase either an NA or NB chassis Miata and cleanliness is absolutely the determining factor. I joined this forum because I miss the forced induction lifestyle. There will be times where I'll comment or ask questions to better understand the nuances that come with turboing Mazdas most iconic car. Don't be afraid of offending me and definitely don't be concerned about forming explanations in extremely technical format. I'll either understand what you are saying or will research the topic so that I can correspond with you in an intelligent manor on said topic.

My main goal here is to learn the ins and outs of intimate details surrounding the building of a turbocharged set up that are outside the realm of "universal" turbo knowledge. ( Considering this will be the first Miata that is mine personally and not a customer car getting a shakedown ) Things that I feel fall into this are things such as quirks and annoyances that the Miata is met with when going boost. What style of parts are commonly know to be effective or not effective in their given application when being applied to the Miata chassis. Brands or parts that are the "go-to" if you will, for basic maintenance or upkeep of the vehicle in its boosted state. So forth and so on. If you've read any of this ( Or any of my future post to come ) and wish to talk with me about anything I'd be more then happy to hear from you in a message or by your response in the thread.

I greatly look forward to interacting with everyone as well as partaking in the friendly banter and jackassery that comes along with it. Most importantly acquiring many, MANY cats.

I'd start with research on the site.

Also, change "then" to "than" in your signature.

I've always liked the old MR2. But the parts/support/knowledge available for Miatas is where it's at for track cars.

I certainly plan to do an excessive amount of reading and digging through the site prior to posting anything. Doing so with hopes of avoiding unwarranted flaming that I know is bound to happen. Also read response to post below as it partially applies to your advice as well.

I will do this as well. Being Dyslexic has its pros and cons. The main cons would be a large number of run-on sentences, and horrendous misuse of word forms ( your / you're and such). I've also been bad about paragraph separation-points since high school. (The English teacher used to rant about how she enjoyed the content, but hated wasting two or sometimes three red pens on the process of grading one of my papers.)

I must admit that I appreciate the warm welcome. Maybe there will be a few sections here where reading everyones proper grammar will help me out in my "engrish" skills. While admittedly I was VERY tempted to purposefully drop some of the "OH ****! A NOOB" type situations from the stickies, I chose to avoid such antics during my warm-up laps until I've presented a proper portrait of myself and my goals here. Don't want to start the banter too early, might get banned.

Don't fret over it much. Being an aviation mechanic in the service, the level in which we dole out the harshness would make most adults cry. Oddly enough ever since leaving the military I have to watch what and how I say things due to people thinking that I'm being a complete douche. When in actuality I considered it a gently worded snappy comeback. That's why I made sure to mention that if I offend / hurt your feelings to say so. ( just incase )

I am however a firm believer in the saying " If you can't take the heat, stay the hell out the kitchen! "
