Default Looking for Someone to tune My Car in Virginia

I'm going to need someone to tune the car, and then tune it again after the larger injectors go in. I'm in the Fredericksburg area but can bring the car to NoVa or go south to Richmond/Charlottesville and am willing to pay someone to teach me what to do with this setup.

Car is a 1990 1.6L with GT2560R Flyin' Miata turbo kit, MS PNP, 1.8L injectors, UEGO Wideband, and GM IAT. Currently the car cuts fuel above 5400RPM. Can't figure out why.

Mikelly, are you running a rising rate regulator on that thing? Without one, I'd wager you are running out of fuel in boost if you are using 1.8 injectors.

We are currently only running the stock 1.8 injectors and I was under the understanding that you wouldn't need the rising rate regulator until you went beyond 1.8s.

Fuel Injectors - Miata Turbo FAQ

RC Fuel Injection

Good info here for injectors. Play with the numbers on the RC worksheet and you'll see what these guys are talking about. Sounds like its new injectors time!

Based on RC's conversion, I need a 352CC injector on a 280HP motor. More like a 400CC injector if I want headroom.

Based on comments in the other thread and the fact that we have fuel cutting off due to "overboost protection", I'm not quite ready to open the wallet for injectors. Just yet. Prefer to give the money to Scott instead.

It is. The Voodoo2 Kit was a very nice, well done setup. The only thing we didn't like about the whole install was that cheesy piggyback voodoo box.

We have overboost protection kicking in around 153KPA which just happens to be at 5600 RPM... Question is what should I set it at...

I have spares dont worry. and 100ft of shrink wrap.

Well meet up soon, maybe friday. i gotta return his PM.

the 1.8L injectors are good for about 170rwhp. a 460cc injector is good for about 230-240rwhp.

Scott, Thanks man. You didn't know this, but I put my 15 year old basset beagel to sleep this morning and I really needed the distraction of car guy stuff...

Guys, Scott did a great job for the car and yea, it's only 8PSI boost. Reality is this:

This is the commutor car:

My nice day car is this:

My racecar is this:

If I have some pickup, get 30mpg, and enjoy the 150 mile commute, it's a win win. Scott got me that and he's the man!
