Default 93 miata MS3x with LS2 coils, 99 tps and iacv setting

I have finished installing my brain built MS3X, ls2 coils, and 99 throttle body on a 93 miata with original CAS. I am not sure on what all I need to change in the settings this is what I have changed so far.

ls2 coils-
number of coils to single coils
cranking dwell to 4.0
normal dwell to 4.0

99 iacv
i have found varying info on changing the pwm idle frequency to 10-50 and was not sure what needs to be changed for Iacv.

I have been unable to find information on settings for tps.

I am a newb with megasquirt and would appreciate any help.

Single coil would mean you've put a distributor on a Miata. I'd imagine that would cause a number of firewall clearance issues. Ordinarily, this setting would use coil on plug.

Thanks for the response Matt. I started the car and it was only running on 2 cylinders and figured out my error and switched to coil on plug and the car idles fine now.

My car is idling at 10.2 using the base map Brain supplied. I was wondering if my fuel map is off so far due to the fact the car is running a Peirburg inline fuel pump on a stock fuel rail and pressure regulator. Does anyone know if the stock fuel pressure regulator has a hard time maintaining pressure w/ this fuel pump? Only info I found online about the pump is that its good for 600 bhp and runs pressure in excess of 130 psi.

Guess it's time to get a fuel pressure gauge and check.

My dash coolant sensor immediately goes completely hot. Does the dash read off the temp sensor on the front of the engine or from the tps? The wiring diagram shows from tps but I thought it came from front temp sensor.

Also I have no tach signal on the dash. I looked on MSextra and see the tach signal goes to pin 26. My thoughts on how to get the tach working is to enable tach out and connect the wire to pin 26 that goes to the ignitor and connected to the dash tach wire. This MS newb appreciates all the help he can get.

I found out what was wrong with the dash coolant sensor. When I reinstalled my transmission the wire to the sensor got pinched in between the transmissions and engine. So soldered in some new wire and the sensor is working fine now.

I enabled the tachout and got an error that pwm or on/off idle was already using this pin and had to turn the tach back off and power down and restart the car. Does anyone have any ideas of what I need to do to get my tach to work

Make sure the tach output is set to a pin other than the idle output.

I checked my settings last night and tachout was set to idle pin. I switched it to tach but have yet to try it on my car. I'm starting to get the ecu sorted out but things have been a little crazy here with the snow/ice in Birmingham AL and its taking longer than I hoped to get everything dialed in. Matt seems like you always respond with the right answer the same day I figure out what is wrong. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on things that are probably really simple to you.

Finally got my tach working. I changed the tachout from idle to tach, but then got an error that another pin was already set to tach. I could not figure out what pin it was referring to. I looked in i/o pins in use and didn't see anything else set to tach. Finally, I just figured I accidently changed something earlier restored to the original settings brain sent me and made appropriate changes for ls2 coils and car started right up with an operating dash tach.

Now I just need to drive the car and make sure my tps is working correctly since I made a new throttle cable bracket. The old bracket was from FM and used when I had a throttle body adapter. I'm also not sure if I wired the tps correctly but will try and check it tonight. When I would open and close the throttle the values will sometimes get off by about 10% on ms tps position gauge.

Are there any settings in MS that need to be changed when changing from a 93 MT throttle body to a 99 throttle body with TPS. Soviet sent me a copy of his tune but after looking at it I was not sure what or if anything needed to be changed.

My voltage values for my tps seems to close together when closed (847) and open (959). I was just wondering if anyone else has values this close together. Just wanted to check before changing any of my wiring.

Checked my wiring on tps and found I needed to swap 2 wires. Now my tps is working fine. Open value 100 and closed 757. Looking forward to tuning in the great weather tomorrow.
