Default About to build MS3

Just wanted to double check before I build my MS3x that I should follow the instructions for the typical MS2e as far as board mods go for my 2000.

I was planning on using the instructions found here:
http://westfieldmx5.devocht.com/index.php?section=35

Granted, I will be installing this in parallel with the stock ECU for multiple reasons, but it will have full control over the engine (haven't decided on idle). Mainly so I don't have to mess with the alternator circuit, OBDII, A/C, etc.

If anyone can confirm that I should be ok following those instructions, I would greatly appreciate it.

if your doing the MS3 with the X card you can do it that way or use the circuits on the card to avoid all the mods. what chassis is this for?

I still don't know if i built mine right. determining what i needed to do and what to skip was one of the most difficult things for me. IMO if you're going to sell a product to people that are unfamiliar with circuits you need to give them clear, up to date instructions. Ben (also on this forum) is the customer support guy you will probably end up contacting with some questions. He did a good job of answering my noobish questions quickly via email. Cool guy.

you can follow his guide for the most parts, but the following extras are not needed with the ms3x:

PWM convertor
fan
tacho
vics
tableswitching
launch control
4 channel
EBC

all those can be used from the ms3x board... along with your 4 injector and spark outputs.

you will need the alternator control circuit.

Thanks for the info Brain!

I suppose that means the Cam and Crank input mods shown in the instructions are the latest and greatest for the NB? I remember back when I built my MS1 for my NA, I adopted early on the CAS input mods and changed it later when the next "best" input mod was discovered.

Yes, it can do 500Hz through hardware PWM.

My thread should help you out a little.
https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquirt-18/ms3-ms3x-mk1-1-8-a-56159/

Unfortunately I've had communications problems.
D19 was getting hot as well as U5. Had it partially set up ready to plug in when comms failed. Changed D19 to a 6.2V version and put in a new U5. Tested mainboard every way possible but still no comms.
The MS3 daughter board should be back at DIY for testing/repair at the moment.
